Total Recall: Synopsis
Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he's got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life - real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police - controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world - Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.

Action packed movie, impressive visual effects, fighting scenes are quite good except for Ferrel and Cranston's final duel. I love how Beckinsale portrait as a villain, very impressive.
I just realized, i was like watching "Bourne Identity" with a bit of "Paycheck" & "Minority Report" here.

GREAT remake, even if it could have been tweaked a bit to be even better! The visuals and effects were obviously much better than the original film, which imo is still a solid flick. Easily one of Farrell's better films, with Kate and Jessica making sure this one is a five star flick! My kind of remake!

This Total Recall is better then the original, but still just an above average film or pretty good. The action and special effects were great, but I thought took priority over the main story which was pretty lackluster. The secondary romantic back story between Farrell and Biel was good. The chemistry of the three main leads was great, but the supporting characters were wasted. Bryan Cranston could have been made into a better villain. Bill Nighy, John Cho and Will Yun Lee were barely in the film. Some for barely a minute. Only Bokeem Woodbine was given real time to be a character and did a good job. I'm not sure what Len Wiseman and the writers were going for here. If they wanted story driven Total Recall they should have toned back the action a little, but if they wanted to be a pure action Sci-fi film they should have changed the story some and focused on the relationship between Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel.
Over all a pretty good Sci-fi film that doesn't know what it wants to be. A story driven Sci-fi film with a message or a pure action adventure one.

They should of done this as Ahhnolds kid, not a redux of a movie that ISNT that out of date, and if you like Sci Fi, was pretty decent ( i loved it, and watch it again when on )..
Big names and all the wrong stuff in this flopflick. dont wast good popcorn money, if you have to, wait for $1 redbox special.. thats all its worth... sorry,, and i LOVE my sci fi, but, it has to be worth a shi*t...

I was dreading this when i originally heard about this and since seeing the trailer.....i am mortified!!! It looks sh*t compared to the Arnie 1!!!! Why do they keep doing all these remakes and just really f*cking them up!!! Even though this film didn't need remaking in the first place! And tbh after watching that trailer i got more of a fell of minority report then Total Recall! Clearly they don't have their own imagination to create an awesome film! *rolls eyes*

colin ferret as arnold? this can't be. The only way this movie would be appreciated is if they showed completely new footage and content pertaining to the original that I have not seen. come on Movie industry this SUCKS!!! where are all the brilliant minds and prodigies.
