I have always been a thundercats fan. I have the entire series on DVD. I often have movie night just to watch the series just because of the lessons it teaches again and again.
That's if Warner bother finishes it, as there are many rumours suggesting they're getting bored of the concept and judging by the cgi footage am thinking the rumours are right.....Am kinda losing the faith in that this film is gonna be any good, especially now its definitely going to be full cgi when/if the film is made..... =(
I can't wait to see it but am slightly scared they'll f*ck it up like they did with TMNT, well, they did for me. I thought the cgi was crap and much prefered the men in suits, more like the cartoons for me. I think i'd rather have them do with with real people, as i can see it working rather well with the computer graphics we have these days, like with Avatar instead of using completely cgi/computer based.....
Every sense I was a child I've had such a love for film . Its funny to see as Hollywood hits a writers block, they just reach back to our childhood and remake commics, video games, and cartoons. It was a different erra waking up with a big bowl of Captain Cruch and sat morning cartooons. I started on a screen play for thundercats, after bing inspired by Frank Miller's sincity, I thing thundercats gives the abbility to cast a much darker feel, we can do away with the end minute of Lion-O life lessons. CGI should be on the realistic side pushing twards Zemeckis Beowolf rather then Pixar/ Disney. Live action could be pulled off with some changes like those done for X-men meshed with CGI effects something similar Millers 300. But with live action there are just to many ways to make it cheesy. I think Flaherty will be righ6t at home working with CGI. If he can evolve CGI and film like that done with first person shooter, and Gears of War. I hope we can expect a film that will live up to the cult classic thundercats, and the erra of Saterday morning cartooners.
