Basically, the film is a very good celluloid fairy tale. I've got kids (7,5,3,1) and they all enjoyed it, although the younger 2 got a bit nappy about 2/3 in.

My wife and I thought it was reasonably entertaining. The story is the best part. The acting, direction and visuals are just sort of 'middling', with the big weakness being the CG of the larger 'creature'. Underwater shots...yeah, uh, not great.

Seems like a good way to refresh the legend of Loch Ness, though, with a fresh spin on the tale.

Decent enough for a lazy Sunday matinée in the theater, but I don't think it'll find a path to my DVD collection.
