Starting in 1973 this is the tale of the friendship between two California men who start from very different perspectives, and who over time grow to have more in common. In 1973, 19-year-old Tommy (Braun) is a gay rights activist and 24-year-old Alan (Sullivan) is a politically conservative journalist who has written an unpublished anti-gay book, and yet Alan finds himself falling in love with Tommy, forcing to rethink his politics and come out of the closet. The 1977 publication of his book, without his permission, however, ends their relationship. Then, in the 1980s, the duo gets a chance for a reunion in the form of a road trip to Mexico... More »
