Paul Worley is leaving to go away to school in San Francisco. The only problem is that he wants to drop out. He can't communicate how he feels to his parents because "this has always been the plan." Paul has noticed that his girlfriend Michelle has become more withdrawn from him lately. He tells his friends it is as though they are just "going through the motions." It isn't too much later that he finds out that she's cheating on him. Paul hasn't spoken to his best friend Scott in weeks. With everything else happening in his life, Paul hasn't been able to "hang out" as much as he used to. Scott is currently having a rough time getting over his last girlfriend. What do you when you have no time for the most important person in your life? Yourself. Told mostly in flashbacks, THE TOLL COLLECTOR is a story that looks at self-reliance. Only when backed against the wall does Paul discover what he's truly made of. Featuring music by Texas is the Reason, Gameface, Mean Season, The Bollweevils, A Chorus of Disapproval, Chris Lohman and March

Paul Worley has one weekend to figure out the rest of his life. Inspired by Willa Cather's short story, "Paul's Case".
A narrator tells us about a young woman who wants, more than anything, to be a ballerina. Thanks to animation, we see the problem: her legs make up about three-quarters of her height. She sees the impossibility of her dream and moves to a house on an isolated hill where she lives by herself, lonely, practicing her art, and then, in near despair, taking up knitting. Madness seems close at hand, but is there anything that can bring hope and pull her from her solitary, circ*mscribed life?
