There have been numerous manifestations of The Three Stooges but their relationship with MGM dates back to 1933 when the trio appeared in a series of shorts and features for the Lion.

The Farrelly Brothers have been working on a modernization of the Stooges, 'slapstick with heart' concept since the mid-90s. But it was their decision to focus on an origin story for Larry, Moe and Curly and thus introduce the three to a new generation that pushed the picture onto the fast track. Audiences have embraced The Three Stooges in a variety of mediums; vaudeville, shorts, television and home video but for Peter Farrelly the communal nature of a theatrical feature remains the perfect experience.

The 3 actors that play the 3 stooges were good.

GREAT MOVIE, I saw this four times. How can you compare them to the originals? You cant. They're dead. If you want to stay home alone and watch them on your VHS go ahead you knuckleheads. Everyone in the theater ate this up and laughed out loud. Its been out a week and on the last viewing the audience even clapped, (something that rarely happens). There are some hilarious moments in here. The kid that plays Moe is a riot and I liked the nun that is played by a man -- total comedy. You guys are missing out. I am a huge fan of this film. Its good to go out and laugh once in a while. I find it hard to care a lot about these movies with explosions, bad political dialogue, and shakey plot lines. Just gimme the laffs.

nothing beats the real three stooges these are total fakes just like the fake - team or the flukes of hazzard Hollywood stop making cheap rip offs
its one thing to sell fake Oakley sun glasses at one glance you cant tell they are fakes but these fake stooges give me a brake they are not telling the real story of how they came to be the stooges they were raised in a Jewish family not kicked to the curb at an orphanage from a moving car
they only movie that did it right was in 2000
except for a misquote on the episode disorder in the court it was a pretty good bio movie
all you movie fans out there this movie bites
real stooge fans keep showing the originals to your kids do not let your kids see this movie it is hazardous to your kids health may cause blindness
