At an Antarctica research site, the discovery of an alien craft leads to a confrontation between graduate student Kate Lloyd and scientist Dr. Sander Halvorson.

The Thing, So I like alot of other horror movie lovers loved the 1982 Thing and from the trailer to this I didnt like what I saw but another shocker from the year 2011 I really liked this movie it was way better then I should have been. Now this prewuel takes place 2 days before the 1982 Thing and it shows things that were in the old movie like when Kurt Russell goes to that camp and he sees that body that is crispy burnt this movie shows how that happened and it was great to see how it all came together. Another thing I love about this movie is the look of it. It looks just like the 1982 it has the same feel and thrill to it. The acting is very good, Mary Elizabeth Winstead from Scott Pilgrim vs. The World did a great job, Joel Edgerton did awesome and the rest of the cast. Now the thing that was bad about the movie is the visuals, sometimes the thing monster looks good and the other 95% of the time it looks really bad and it was sad to say that the 1982 thing monster looks better then the 2011 when CGI is the best looking stuff in films. One more problem I had was that the first 15 minutes were solw but after that it was fine great pace.

So I really liked this film but the 1982 is way better and I like the old Thing more seeing this becasue it fits together great I'm going to give The Thing a B+
