Okay, this movie does have scary, chilling feel to it, but this movie is really not all that great. Although I gave this movie 3 stars, I do not promise a good movie and I do not say that this is a terrible movie either. This movie is just plain decent. I didn't hate this and I didn't love this either. This movie does play with your head and it does sort of give you a chill maybe once or twice but the movie takes WAY to LONG to get to the point. WAY TO LONG! This movie takes at least 35 minutes to get to the point and the first 35 minutes is a major bore and its just plain and dull. The movie does speed up though as it gets to the end. BUT, once something exciting happens, the movie just gets slow again. Do I recommend 'The Strangers'? I do say give it a try and just see if you like it or not. This is nothing special in any way. But, I did enjoy it a little.

ACTING:

Liv Tyler [Reign over Me, The Incredible Hulk] and Scott Speedman [Underworld, Underworld: Evolution] star as a couple who get terroized by three-masked strangers [title of film, lol]. That's pretty much the WHOLE plot to the movie. There is nothing else to it. The acting in the movie is fine [there is only six performences in the whole movie]. The acting didn't bother me. It's just Liv Tyler. She never does a good enough job in a movie to make me love her in one. So, I have the acting four stars. Scott Speedman was fine in the film.

This movie is based on true events [ohhh, scaryyyyy]. When I found that out before watching it, I was like, 'damn, this movie is based on true events'. lol. When the movie ended, I was surprised to see that three people could actually terroize people in such a sick way. This movie has a 'Funny Games' feel to it, so if you like 'Funny Games', you'll probably like this as we'll.

The directing in the movie bothered me. The camera was a little too shaky and too in and out at times. I wasn't too fond of the way the director directed this. So, thats a 3.5.

OVERALL:

Like I said, watch this movie and base your own opinon on it. I thought it was alright. I didn't hate this and I didn't love this. This is just another example of a 'meh' film. Thanks for reading.
