Well after finally deciding to sit down and pop this movie in, I was blown away completely. I'd like to start off firstly by saying that I know absolutely nothing about The Punisher comicwise, it was one I never really decided to get into, but the movie was infact incredible.

Well for director Jonathan Hensleigh this was a debut film, and since he still has not done many, but I think that he definitely did wonderfully on this movie, his visions for it were brought nicely onto the screen, and I hope to see more from him in the near future. Jonathan Hensleigh also wrote this film, and in that department he definitely has had much practice with such hits as Die Hard: With a Vengeance, Armageddon, and Next.

The storyline of this movie was definitely one that was incredibly moving, gripping, and fast-paced. I really enjoyed it. Just the way it flowed and how it was one man's struggle to punish those who killed his family, and bring his family justice once and for all. I was grabbed and held in place by this movie, and I loved every minute of it.

The visuals were definitely another thing that I was incredibly impressed by. Everything was done very nicely, the action scenes with the gun fighting and the explosions. I especially liked the scene where Frank has to fight the big Russian guy and he's being slammed into things and tossed everywhere, the visuals on how he looked after all these beatings were very convincing.

Tom Jane stars in this movie as Frank Castle who is a man who is in the police force and going on a trip to Puerto Rico for a family reunion before picking up and moving to London with his family. While at the family reunion a crime lord orders a hit on Frank and his entire family. The whole family is killed, wife, kid, aunts, uncles, everyone. They get Frank and almost kill him as well, he survives and moves on to become The Punisher and punish the crime boss and everyone to do with the murder of his family. Tom Jane was very convincing as Frank Castle and his scenes where he is emotional or where he is pissed were very convincing. He was also very good at playing a man whose lost everything and doesn't really care about anything else. All he wants is to avenge his family, but deep down he's still a good man. It was very moving.

The crime boss, Howard Saint was played by John Travolta, and John Travolta has always been one of my favorite actors, ever since I saw him in Grease. In this movie Travolta plays a man who is rich and practically on top of the world. Until his son is killed in an FBI raid, and he finds out that Frank Castle is the one to blame for it. He soon orders a hit on Frank and throughout the entire movie tries to put Frank down under, but constantly fails. I think John Travolta was incredible in his role as a ruthless criminal and he was also very convincing. He was torn about his son's death and now is driven to destroy the man who was responsible for his son's death. I was very impressed with it.

Rebecca Romijn-Stamos plays Joan, Frank Castle's neighbor. Joan is a woman who is very nice at heart, but seems to always end up with the creeps in a city, and when one of those creeps stops by and tries to beat her, Frank beats him up and tosses him outside. After this Joan is constantly trieing to get Frank used to everyone, and help him get over the death of his entire family. In this movie Rebecca Romijn-Stamos does an excellent job, and I enjoyed her role thoroughly.

Will Patton plays Quentin Glass, Howard Saint's top and right-hand man. Quentin always does the dirty work for Howard Saint, and when Howard orders him to off Frank Castle and Frank's entire family, he personally carries out this role, but when he finds out that Frank Castle really lives he constantly has to try and stop him, but always fails. William Patton also does a great job in this movie, and plays an incredibly convincing bad guy.

All in all I'd say this is definitely a movie you need to buy, and I am definitely going to have to go buy my own copy. Trust me, this is definitely worth the watch!!!!!

I will do that I guess. MarcusX is an opinionated person, and that's not a bad thing, these reviews are for people to express why they liked a movie, or what they think the movie should have been like. Whatever the case, I've not seen Crank, and Nacho Libre, like Napolean Dynamite and Superbad, was a terrible movie, they all three were a waste of an hour and a half to two hours each of my life.

yeah, because most of these people do not know much about movies. for example, marcus knows a couple things about movies, but just because the movie is not the way HE wanted it to be, then its not good, like Indy 4. also he says movies like spider-man three was bad, yet he enjoys watching pointless movies like nacho libre and crank, which i thought were pathetic excuse for a movie. i guess you CAN say that my taste is random, but i can atleast describe in detail why i like a movie, rather than some people who just bag on it. but, anyways read my spider-man three review, i re-wrote it and i think you may like it more.

Actually if you were writing those Rocky reviews from my point of view. It wasn't random. I had just gotten done watching all of them for the first time, and I decided to review them all. As for my vampire obsession, I accept that, but there are a lot of people like that who love a certain type of movie. I'm saying your particular taste in movies is weird because you seem to find that all the movies everyone on here dislikes incredible, and all the movies on here that everyone thought were incredible, you disliked.

and no offense to you, but out of all the people in movieweb, or most of the people in movieweb, you have the strangest taste in movies. all your movies are about vampires, and even if they sucked, no pun intended, you still like them.... and then you go off and write reviews about Rocky movies? very random.

thats what i said vamp. that he DIDNT go around killing everybody.

    4 years agoby @flrep07Flag

  15. Vamp

That's far too low, and he didn't just go and kill everyone. He killed those who needed punishing. You have the strangest taste in movies.

to me, the movie was ok. i liked the fact that the punisher was a guy out to "punish" those who do wrong, but he didnt go killing everyone for no reason. i mean yeah the guy is pissed off in the world, but deep down he hasnt forgotten his heart and sympathy. the other punisher looks more robotic, with no emotions or sympathy or nothing. i would rate this movie 3.0/5 and 7.9/10
