Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds, in my opinion would never have brought such a sweet, funny, and cheerful film to the screens, until I saw this. What a good movie.

"The Proposal" starring Bullock as the quick and speedy bossy boss as she is, Margaret Tate, a to-the-point editor in chief at a major New York publishing company, with her laxed, slave-type assistant Andrew Paxton played by funny-man Reynolds at her side, this couple is run in for the money on this love and galloping hit.

Sandra Bullock does the job perfectly in this one. She gives us her full and promised acting routine to portray such a witty boss to a male employee. Her act is on the money and gave me plenty of laughs and giggles. Her character Margaret Tate is one to look at as sort of a female boss with attitude as we are first introduced to her, but as the story unfolds it gets to the point at her real backstory which made the film so promising and delightful.

Ryan Reynolds producing such a funny and fabulously done role as Andrew Paxton, the so-called "assistant" to Mrs. Tate, whose only dream was to actually get something published of his own and get away from her. But again, the story unfolds and his role opens such a broad and touching piece to the puzzle in the story.

Mary Steenburgen, Craig T. Nelson and Betty White all added great laughs and such good side acting to make the film even funnier and spirited.

The setting of this film is well chosen, a desolute and beautiful Alaskan back ground, which adds so much animosity and fantastic vibe to the story. It brought together a good amount of emotion and funniness to the film.

The story itself, was well done. I thought there were some things missing as the it went on too. For example, Reynold's character Paxton seemed like he was hiding something the whole time, and not what we learn in the ending of the film, but something else. Maybe it's just me, but sometimes you get to the point with certain actors like Ryan Reynolds to believe that they produce such a dominant role as a supporting actor that they are forced to act like they really hide something in their role. Thats the way I felt as I saw him walk around or sniffle up Bullock's character in some cases.

The end credits gave it away as the hardest laughing iv'e done in years, added with Oscar Nunez's role as the exotic dancer.

Over all, this film is definitly one to see, as a love story and a comedy. Both are great genres for such a well done film by Anne Fletcher. Thumbs up!

Agree... probably the best romantic/comedy of the year. Sandra Bullock is the queen of romantic comedies. She's even coming up with another in September with Bradley Cooper (The Hangover, The Wedding Crashers) called ALL ABOUT STEVE. Looks very funny.

    Loved this movie. Nice review.
