The Other Boleyn Girl: Review By Rufio

It is gut wrenching to watch Nataie Portman's character "work" and see Scarlett's "worked".

A great take on the infamous story of Henry VIII and his wives! I still prefer the Tudors, however, this take on the story does a great job contrasting the sisters. It is gut wrenching to watch Nataie Portman's character "work" and see Scarlett's "worked". The story itself is very disheartening, but a good portrayal of how far one will go to get what they want. My only complaint is the way the movie brushes over the significance of Henry's decision to leave the church (not the "Catholic church," as portrayed in the movie; there was only one church at that point in history and Henry's decision to make his own church - the Church of England - affected a lot more than just England). That being said, I understand the focus of the story was not henry, but the sisters (if you want to see the consequences played out, however, check out "The Tudors"). Regardless of its minor shortcomings, the point is made - selfish pursuits profit no one... good movie! GREAT ACTING!! All three of the main characters are AMAZING!!!
