  • Since I hated and was deceived by the boring-long "Shutter Island," I think this movie is a LOT better because it really has suspense, it doesn't drag on too much, it has great serious acting from Jim Carrey, it has an awesome mystery to the story, and it did leave me thinking about the number 23! Does anyone else agree?

    yeah, not me either.
i didn't dislike the number 23 but i was pretty underwhelmed by it especially once the twist was revealed.
for shutter island, maybe my mind wasn't blown, but i was pleased with it and enjoyed it enough to watch it a second time before returning the dvd to the rental place.

  • The Number 23 is a really good movie. Jim Carrey is a brilliant actor. Shutter Island is in my view, however, the better.

  • theyre both good but shutter island was better

  • I really enjoyed Shutter Island. DiCaprio was brilliant. But Jim Carrey, on the other hand, felt really out of place (like he always does) in a fairly weak film.

  • Shutter Island was better in every way. Not that Number23 wasn't partially entertaining and semi original, but it didn't hook me as much as Shutter did.

  • Um. Better? Um. I liked both. Though I very much enjoyed the entanglements and mysteries of Number 23, in general, I think I found Shutter Island more coherent as a film.
