I only wanted to see this movie because of Rachel McAdams. She's extremely gorgeous. I didn't really know what to expect. There are a few chick flicks that I enjoy, some that I do not. This is one that I do enjoy. It had some moments that pissed me off due to sappiness and stupidity. But overall, it was really good.

Story is slightly....stupid. It was good, but still your typical predictable love story. Before I go into it and critisize, let me say that I enjoy a story like this every once in a while, which is why I gave it a 4. Sadly, I was told there was a twist. But I already knew the twist. To me it was obvious. I just didn't know this was the "twist" that my mom (who I watched it with) had meant. So here, the story without spoilers - a love story about 2 people that have premarital sex and love each other alot. Now here it is with **SPOILERS** - 2 kids/teens love each other very much. And that's the story that we see most of. But what's really happening is the male lover (Noah) is now old and telling their story to his wife (Ally) who is suffering from dementia, and trying to make her remember. It is a touching story that was good, but kinda made me angry with them switching back and forth. Whenever a movie does that I always get annoyed. If you ask me they shoulda deleted all the stuff about them old, and just showed their story as teens, and ended it with them together, kissing at the end. ***

I thought all the acting was pretty good. I mean, all the actors did the best they could. Rachel McAdams did awesome, and all the side actors did great. But this Ryan Gosling guy didn't have much chemistry with Rachel McAdams. I hardly even remember his character, but I sure remember McAdams. It was like she was acting amazingly, and he was standing there. Now, don't get me wrong, he did good, but they shoulda picked someone else.

The director is a guy - Nick Cassavetts. Kinda creepy that a guy would do a movie like this, but whatever. He did great. I really felt for all the characters, and I really like all the time and effort he put into each scene.

Very pretty visuals. Not only nice scenery, but the very lovely Rachel McAdams, who should be in more movies!

So, it's a chick flick that has it's parts where the guys will groan, and yell at the TV (like I did), but overall, it's a cute movie. Don't tell anyone, but I almost cried....

Good review. Even though I am a chick, this is not my kind of movie so I did not run out to see it but waited until it was on cable. Like you, I enjoyed it more than I thought I would.
