The nines consists of kinda three shorts , featuring the same actors in different and overlaping roles in overlaping story lines that explores the relationship between author and character, actor and role , creator and creation. The nines is like a puzle were the question is : Does all the pieces fit together.
Beeing an agnostic I find myslef to be more open to every possibility sourrounding God and the meaning of life ect... I found myself really captivated by this vision that I felt it was probably pretty personal stuff from the director John August . You can truly sens it in part 2 , I found it also to be a great insight about the process and frustrations about making and creating a t.v show/pilot . The part about a talented actress like Melissa McCarthy , not getting lead roles because she is chubby and doesnt look like most actress's feels a 100% true . It`s a shame really I find Melissa McCarthy to be quite a beautifull women and she looks to be quite a fun gal. ( and no am no chubby chaser , I just find a womens body beautifull in any shape , what counts for me is the face). I bet John August proabbly would of had a hard time pushing Melissa to be is lead actress if this wasnt an indie film.
The casting in this film is awesome everyone did an excellent job , I strongly all the actors did their best performance ever . Ryan Reynolds and Melissa McCarthy were really fantastic , the have quite the chemistry between them , one of my favorites scenes in the film is the small musical bit when she sings a song to him dress has a nun.
At the end of the film i was really satisfied with my purchased , i found myself captivated by this film . I did find a couple of flaws with it but with more then one viewing they may disapear. Also loved the score so this film looks like it will i will wanna revisite more then twice in my life time. and just like a Lynch film this looks like something that i will discover new things and meaning each watchs . Ill trie to come by this page and give my thoughts each time
Also on the dvd theres one of my favorite features you could find one a dvd : a short . And really a great one . God and it stars Melissa McCarthy . Her character is best friends with god and they always talk on the phone like a pair of teenage girls

I enjoyed this movie for making me think but I disliked the movie because a few of the scenes just don't add up...
