This just wasn't for me. I thought the movement was too stiff and motionless. The acting could've been better. Liv Tyler was terrible. She defines BAD acting. Edward was not believable enough of to be a Banner. I could've imagined Tim Roth playing that role. Which brings me to his performance. The most intense aspect of this movie was Roth and him alone. His dramatic change really sp*ced-up this movie as it headed downhill. He played a real psycho who craved power. although, as he got what he wanted, he started to loose the insanity and just became a moronic beast. I don't think this moive could've been better... that's the disappointing part.

@ghostman Well, yeah. This was aiming for the same feel of the series. It including a few references to it here and there. Hulk '03 was slow and dull at times, but it was more about building up to the unpredictabilty of what the Hulk can actually do... from Banner's perspective. Like most origin stories it's about discovery and finding oneself. It took its time with some exposition thrown in every so often, but the way the way the scenes transitioned from one to another made it feel so much like a comic book. I agree that it has some major faults like the ones you pointed out, but looking at it from a production stand-point it was actually a well-made... well, decent effort in making a comic book-like movie. But not exactly in making a well put together Hulk film.

@SpaceCowboy That's fine w/me I thought that 03' Hulk seemed sluggish and melodramatic with the whole "child neglect"/"daddy issues" theme it had going on. Then with this movie, it felt more like the original TV series; which I loved a lot more than the psychological aspect that Ang Lee had in his film.

@ghostman This is a really old review, Scrooge McGhost. This was my first impression and from the comments and dislikes I've gotten you're not the only one who thinks this rating was unfair. Believe it or not, I still prefer Hulk '03 to this one. But then again I have yet to rewatch The Incredible Hulk.

Say what @SpaceCowboy?!?! You didn't think that this was action-packed exciting at all? i think you need to re-watch this now that The Avengers is coming soon; maybe you'll change your mind on that 1 1/2 star and give it a 3 star.

@monkeyiron This Hulk showed me just how bland of a character Banner is. I liked the 2003 Hulk a smidge more than this, though I didn't think that one was really anything good. Besides, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Edwards portrayal was stony and a little emotionless, but I found this to be a great reboot of a franchise that had started off horribly. I especially liked the ambiguous ending.

I don't like Liv either. Never that believable. Just way TOO emotional for any movie worth watching. As for Norton, I'm not that surprised. This doesn't seem like a Norton flick. Plus, I never really liked the Hulk as a comic book character, yet didn't find the '03 flick to be all that terrible in comparison to what the Hulk is.

thats two different things, religion and politics, and also Tom Cruise at least appears in good movies while Sean Penn is just a retarded looking idiot. and i do sometimes attack Cruise for his "Scientology"...

Glad to see you appreciated Roth's acting, but what were you expecting from Norton, I wonder. He was believable as a tormented man with a heavy burden, much like a Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde. And for this storyline and the future that Marvel has planned, it works.
If you have seen the Ultimate Avengers animated movie, I have because of my son, you would see why things are the way they are in this adaptation. Too me, it looks like the studio is heading to a pretty close version of an Ultimate Avengers live action movie.
But, hey, that's just my two cents.

i do not like Sean Penn first because he is in usually stupid movies that some people dont even bother watching, let alone even know about and second of all, in an article i read a while back ago this year, this dipsh*t is friends with Venezuela's president Hugo Chavez

seriously its just a personal preference.. I think the woman has very little talent and a very bland personality. Plus she does ds commercials and that sh*t is just dumb.

Ia much as I get what you are saying, I liked this movie. I think Edward Norton was a great Hulk, to show the contrast. No offense to Edward Norton, he's a good actor, but he is sorta puney. Small. I think that needed to be that way to show him before and after. The differense of him, and Hulk.
I don't understand what's wrong with Liv Tyler though...
Tim Roth was great like you said. He was in a Tales from the Crypt episode in season 3.

Liv Tyler is a great actress. Arwynn was a good role she did. She was also good in Armageddon, and everything else I've seen her in. I don't know what your problem with her is.

ok,its not like im a die hard liv tyler fan or anything.im just defending here acting job in hulk.i think she did a decent job.and the only movies ive liked arnold in are the terminator movies, predator, and the HIGHLY under rated last action hero.he was basically making fun of himslef in that movie.and, what do you have against sean penn,J.V.?he's a good actor.and,as for keanu,he's an ok actor.if it wasnt for the matrix he wouldnt have a creer.

    4 years agoby @mr-blondeFlag

  24. Phatlightning

I mean predator, just classic. Arnold being a hard ass is just who arnold was. And liv tyler can burn in a fiery pit for all I care, the woman isn't worth a damn in this world or the next.

    4 years agoby @sxers2k1Flag

  25. Phatlightning

I think Arnold and Keanu are robots for real, both show very similar attributes to that of the machine world(no pun intended from matrix).

  26. Flrep07

sean penn can go and shoot himself in the balls for all i care. the only problem is that he wouldnt know where to find them.
and yes arnold is a good actor. i liked him in many movies like T3, where he did an exceptional job in the movie, even though it kinda bombed and i liked him in other movies like Predator and so forth and so on.

wow,u guys are the first people ive hear to say that arnold is a pretty good actor.the only time he was a good actor was in the terminator, because he didnt have to show any emotion and put any effort into the role.that is the perfect part for him.he has gotten better over the years, but he is still pretty bad in my opinion.keanu was good in the matrix,i agree.but,i havent seen street kings.
