The first thing that one will notice is that the special effects are really good in this film. The Hulk looks truly awesome and menacing without looking too much like a cartoon, and the Abomination is also extremely menacing as well. Plus there are enough explosions in here to make any action junkie happy.
The acting here is well done as Ed Norton and cast do a servicable job in their roles. What prevents this film from being great is that the plot was apprently written by a mentally retarded Hulk. There is esentially no plot in the film at all as it is just Banner being chased through areas, then turns into the Hulk and breaks stuff. While that does sound like the Bourne Identity meets the Hulk, in reality it is way too long as it starts to drag on about halfway through the film. While the Hulk/ Abomination fight is nice it still doesn't warrant the endless running early on.
All in all, the Hulk is a fun popcorn film that has special effects but a stupid as hell plot. Finally, you Avengers fans should be happy to know that there is another mention of the team in the film, although I say screw the Avengers and just make a House of M film.
and P.S. if you are lucky enough to see the trailer for Miracle at St. Anna by Spike Lee, I envy you as that film looks utterly awesome.
Peace and HULK SMASH,
Cap is Dead

Not deep? Don't tell me u didn't feel anything when betty was comforting the hulk in that cave during the thunderstorm. Besides, it's the hulk, it doesn't have to be TOO deep(i.e. lee's film which was more like a soap opera)
