The Hunger Games: Synopsis
Every year in the ruins of what was once North America, the Capitol of the nation of Panem forces each of its twelve districts to send a teenage boy and girl to compete in the Hunger Games. A twisted punishment for a past uprising and an ongoing government intimidation tactic, The Hunger Games are a nationally televised event in which “Tributes” must fight with one another until one survivor remains.
Sixteen year old Katniss Everdeen volunteers in her younger sister’s place to enter the games, and is forced to rely upon her sharp instincts as well as the mentorship of drunken former victor Haymitch Abernathy when she’s pitted against highly-trained Tributes who have prepared for these Games their entire lives. If she’s ever to return home to District 12, Katniss must make impossible choices in the arena that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
THE HUNGER GAMES is directed by Gary Ross, with a screenplay by Gary Ross and Suzanne Collins and Billy Ray, and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. Suzanne Collins’ best-selling novel, the first in a trilogy published by Scholastic that has over 26 million copies in print in the United States alone, has developed a massive global following. It has spent more than 180 consecutive weeks/more than three consecutive years to date on The New York Times bestseller list since its publication in September 2008, and has also appeared consistently on USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists.

These types of dystopic movies like 1984, Brave New World, etc. are not that far fetched. I have seen changes in human behaviour since my young years that I never thought I would see. I believe this scenario is absolutely possible within the next hundred years. People a hundred years ago would have never thought people today would act the way they do. If you could ask an homemaker from the 1950s if she could envision women parading themselves as sex objects with their breasts hanging out of their blouses or sleeping with multiple people before they are adults or the multitudes of men they will sleep with over their lifetime, she would slap you in your face and tell you to leave her house. Humanity is as tragic as it is bizarre. Point, is that moral values change over the years and the change seams to be gaining speed. Good luck people of 2013! LOL!

The film was easier to follow thanks to having read the book. Large parts cut out, but overall a decent entertaining film. 4 stars out of 5 overall.

Huntsman
I just finished Mockingjay the last of the series of books. Let me just say they are excellent, with great writing, story and characters. They are also very dark, sad and depressing. Especially Mockingjay.
I know they change things in films from the books, but I hope they writers and directors managed to at least come close to the story, tone and greatness of The Hunger Games and the sequels. If they can't I think I'll be disappointed in the films.

This is going to be the amazing. Also, i think i will bring A LOT of spotlight towards the leading actors! Which i think is good, because they are all very talented young actors. Especially Josh and Jennifer. Go watch The Kids Are Alright and Winter's Bone. You'll be blown away.
