A movie like this, you can't help but ask "HOW HAS THIS MOVIE NOT BEEN MADE YET!?" and they couldn't have picked a better group of people to make this movie. The cast was absolutely perfect! For example: Alan (Zach Galifianakis) the very nice guy who just happens to be a screw up, looks the part completely and was absolutely hilarious! Phil (Bradley Cooper) is just a natural badass looking guy, who looks like a douchebag, but in the end turns out to be an awesome friend and really does care about the guys. Stu (Ed Helms) is a smart looking guy who works hard to get to where he wants to be, but realizes that just isn't really him and ends up marrying a hooker, and of course Doug (Justin Bartha). He is just the type of guy that looks like someone that you care about. Every group of friends has that one person who all the other friends would take a bullet for, and in this movie Doug is that guy and Justin Bartha looks and played the part perfectly.
My favorite character was Alan. He was flat out hilarious. He was the dumb guy but wasn't obnoxiously dumb. Like the movie Step Brothers (which was F*CKING awful) they were just way too dumb, and it was really annoying. Alan was a "cute" dumb if you get what I'm trying to say. He said some dumb stuff, but was innocent about the whole thing and you really felt bad for his character. Then he redeems himself at the end by being the ultimate mathematician and learns how to count cards.
Mr. Chow however, the acting wasn't so good, but he was so well played and hilarious that it sort of didn't even matter.
The movie had nothing but loveable characters, and fun characters. Even the minor ones were important and funny. The thing I hate in movies is minor characters that served NO PURPOSE. In this one they served purpose to the story and to the comedy.
It just a very feel good movie, and when you walk out of the theater you're still laughing and wanting to hang out with your friends to have a good time and hopefully remember everything.
In this movie there are a few things on the edge of over the top but in the end it balanced itself out into a perfect blend of comedy and excellent story telling.
Let me add this...the end credits have to be the greatest end credits in the history of cinema.
The thing I loved the most about this movie is that EVERYTHING was explained...except for the chicken, but who cares. Everything weaved in and out perfectly and it was just a funny movie to watch.
