the promos state side tried to hype this film up as a action thriller, but the most action you get is a car blowing up.
the film is incredibly too long and ambles about too many lull moments i mean the Daniel Craig and Rooney characters first meet each other like a hour and something into the movie and by that time i was already staring at my watch

Excellent and enjoyed the ride. Girl is great and would give it 5 stars if they would leave out the pointless stuff.

i saw the new tattoo movie and noomi rapace is better than the new girl. the three orig. movies are better ,they have a great dubbed track that they did a good job on. Even at the end of this one the crash action is not better.

if there's anyone that thinks that the original 3 with noomi rapace were better than this new one comment on here and tell us. noomi was spot on i can tell you that but the truth is, it is yet to be seen by myself what this new tattooed starlet has to offer,we'll see. i do think daniel c. was the perfect choice for bloomfist,i would most likely have chosen him too after seeing the originals,a great match. If you still haven't seen the origs. check um out on dvd, switch it over to the dubbed track, they came off real well and at the end of the third one you may even stand up and cheer in your own house, the trilogy is a triump,i would even bet for all the book heads out there as well.

I had heard about the Swedish trilogy a year or so ago and didn't think much of it. But when I saw the teaser for this version, and learning that David Fincher was at the helm, I had to see it. I can proudly say that he has done it again! Excellent film. It's lengthy run-time isn't dragging at all; I was stiff with excitement all the way through. Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara give stellar performances (especially Mara). Both including Fincher, and the picture itself, are all worthy of Oscar nominations.

I never read the books nor did I really hear about them until I first heard about the movie, so I have no preconceived notions about the movie, or really any expectations about the movie when I went to see it outside of the trailers which looked great.

As for the movie itself it wasn't perfect, but still was a great film. The mystery of the missing girl was the best part of the movie for me. One of the biggest flaws for me was the drawn out ending, which I thought took away from the climax of the film.

Overall a great film I gave 4.5 out 5 stars, and David Fincher is a great director.

i saw the trilogy on (one of the best ones i've seen) on dvd with n. rapace and i would bet that this new remake can't touch it. "The trilogy" is dubbed, but well dubbed,. It had one of the best endings i've ever seen. This new version from what i see in the previews is nothing more than an american remake with a more violent rape scene but not anything more than that .I haven't seen the new one and as great as the first 3 originals were i really don't care if i do see this new one but i'll let you know if i do..

Sooo, WTF is this movie about? All they say is that it's made from a book, by some guy I've never heard of.

  27. the Narrator

I am looking forward to this. The original was great, but a bit sketchy in terms of pacing and overall narrative. It had too many moving that needed better positioning in the timeline. Hopefully Fincher can bring some of his adaptive talent into play, resulting in a just as good if not better remake.

Only question is: is this going to be set in America now? Or will it still take place in Sweden?

It's so weird, one year later and they are already remaking.
