The back of the dvd states that this was "filmed over a period of 4 years years, in 18 different countries", which I thought was impressive. Obviously, much thought and time was put into the making of this film.
Visually this movie is a feast for the eyes. The usage of color is an important aspect in portraying emotions of the characters, along with fabulous costumes and scenery. No expense was wasted in making this film visually beautiful.
The film is set in the 1920's, where a stuntman named Roy (Lee Pace) is recuperating in a Los Angeles Hospital after falling off of a train bridge. While there, he meets 5 year old Alexandria (Catinica Untaru), who also suffered a fall while picking oranges and has a broken arm. Roy is bedridden; Alexandria is not. An unlikely friendship develops as she daily visits Roy who tells her stories.
The director weaves the 2 main characters into the story Roy tells, and this is where personally for me, the film lacks. I had a hard time being interested in the film, and if not for the visuals, I would have turned it off.
I had a hard time rating this film. It's obvious alot of hard work went into the making if it, yet the storyline did not do it for me.
Maybe I totally missed the point, so check it out for yourselves.

The story was not lacking, it just was not interesting, personally, for me.

No unless I check, which I did and these are his only movie made, until the release of two movies in 2010, and 2011, and visually it looks the same, but I was wondering if the story is lacking enough not to see it, or just enough to tolerate it, I sitll remember the cell vividly, and I havent seen it for about, sh*t 6 or 7 years, and sorry for the delay, I was writing a review, but it did the same thing as the last one so look out for my next review some time next week, (Fifth element).

I liked this movie, and The Cell was great. I need to watch this one again.

Yes, BlizZz, Tarsem also directed The Cell, which I saw a long time ago, so I can't give a comparison. Do you know of any other movies Tarsem did?

I heard it was mundane, and generic, and didn't measure to The Cell, because it's from the same movie maker, is this true, it looked good, but that's just visuals.

I know; I had a hard time rating this and even after I completed it, I still am not happy with what I chose. Perhaps you can watch it and then let me know your thoughts - I will say it's not a complete waste of time and/or money, just personally the story itself was lacking depth - the visuals and story did not compliment each other.

Hmmm.. the storyline "didn't do it" for you, yet you gave it 4 stars?
Nice review. It actually sounds interesting, but then you say you "had a hard time being interested in the film". Not sure if I wanna check out a movie just for the visuals.
