On to the real review after this experiment:

The Devil Inside is a 2012 horror movie.

Directed by: William Brent Bell

Starring: People you really don't care about

A girl tries to help her mother who seems to be possessed.

Had I have known it would be this easy to make a horror movie with the whole found footage style, like the first Paranormal Activity movie, I'd be contracted by studios already. Sadly, that's not the case and I have my own stuff to worry about.

The trailer for this movie debuted at an advanced screening for Paranormal Activity last year. Since my expectations for PA was very high, it sort of mixed with the expectations for Devil Inside. Sadly, even a single scene from any of the PA movies is better than the whole hour this movie took away from my life.

The only exorcism based films that have ever been good and still hold up, as the best in their genre would have to be the first Exorcism and The Last Exorcism. This movie is an embarrassment from start to finish, and the whole found footage style of filmmaking doesn't even add to its horrid execution. However, despite all that, I have to admit the creators and the studio are some smart-ass producers; only a million dollar production budget with an extra twenty-two to distribute it? Smart indeed. Instant cash grab for Paramount, capitalizing on the success of Paranormal Activity.

The story? Ha! Well, if I had to explain, its pretty simple. A girl tries to discover why her mother acts like a demon, and brings with her a doc*mentary team with expert-experienced priests while using science to analyze and probably save her mother. The only good thing about it, but doesn't really save the film in the least, are the practical effects. Like the possessed woman who looks like a pretzel and the mother being pulled away from the table. So, not bad for the budget, but still bad. You really don't feel anything for the characters. How can you? They don't really sell you good enough performances to try and care. And don't get me going on the ending. That was just, stupid. The pacing is slow, very boring, that even I want to grab her mother and smash her face on the kitchen stove.

Overall, the movie did succeed in one thing: Take your precious money. Good thing a friend of mine paid for my ticket.

@thedude-abides Hhaha, well that's exactly why I didn't thumb @bawnian-dexeus down. He'll be Official soon enough. I say in the next six months, as long he keeps pumping em' out, which I'm sure he will.

Interesting experiment, and now that the review is full, excellent job man.

@corey I agree in that I would have preferred he had actually reviewed the movie, but I got a huge kick outta this. I probably would've thumbed it down as well had it been anybody else, but @bawnian-dexeus is right up there with you as the most active reviewer on the site. He deserves a pass. Plus, let's face it, I'm still laughing over this, lol.

No offense dude, but I kind of wish you actually reviewed this. If any other user was to review a movie in this format I would of thumbed them down, but since I have high respect for you and consider you a really good friend on here, I'll just leave it at that. :P
