am a big fan of the original version of 1951. Like with many other people I was awaiting this new release remake with bated breath. Because I know the original version so well, I just loved this remake. It was hard for me to imagine how this could be done. After all to remake a classic science fiction movie. As did the original version of this movie, this powerful and stunning remake delivers to the people of this planet a very powerful message.Keanu Reeves plays an alien with named Klaatu who has traveled to Earth to warn of an impending global crisis. But the 23 foot Gort killed it the first time for me!. That new space ship. All the special effects. The dead pan Klatu. I just loved the shift from the threat of nuclear war from back then, to contemporary global ecological crisis was just wonderful. Then there was the Earth going to be consumed by those metallic insects was just brilliant. To see N.Y. Giants Stadium being consumed the way it did. I loved it!!!! Definitely, you must go see, and of course in IMAX!!!!!

I saw this movie last night and I thought it was an over all good movie. There was a lot of action in the beginning of the movie and the premise is something that the human civilization might have to deal with in the near future. It got kinda slow in the middle and I thought that the kids acting in the graveyard could have been re-shot. The end kinda left me hanging though, maybe setting us up for a sequel.
