In my opinion, MLB should be held accountable for their handling of the "steroid era." Where was the leadership? Where was the commissioner and owners, or the player's association, stepping up to address the issue when it began to surface in the 90's? MLB failed to make a decision, failed to decide to ensure their business would remain legit and that fair competition/integrit y of play would rule... What happened? MLB and owners didn't care for the employee, they cared more about the business of making money vise ensuring their players were taken care of... Lack of effective leadership and timely decisions on stopping the problem is why we have such a "disease" now. MLB and owners "love" that money, and dang don't they make enough anyway?? Why, if you make an investment of millions of dollars, you can't demand and ensure that investment(player) is held accountable, and if he does something illegal, get him help or get rid of him, because the business is more important than the player and MLB and the owners "made the choice" that cash flow was more important than the integrity of the game...I think if Clemens would have told the truth from the begining, and maybe used an exscuse like,"I wasnt ready to stop playing.I still had the desire to compete but my body was failing me.Forgive me."Alot of people may have. And obviosly he was a hall of famer before he started using,I know like Bonds as well,if he did that he still might of made the hall. But now he wont.I cant believe he continues to take us for idiots.I guess he has no choice now.....Clemens arrogance will be his downfall.

Are you people stupid? You dont think Congress should spend time protecting some of its biggest assests? Did any of you people pay attention in school? No one here seems to understand the important of sporting events and entertainment. Its funny people like Julius Caesar, Augustus, and every other emperor of Rome understood the importance of providing entertainment yet somehow most of you idiots dont think its important for the Government to protect our sporting pastimes? You fools all talk about Congress needs to butt out and take care of important things. Important things like what? The war in Iraq? The Economy? The housing slump? The enviroment? The fact the rich keep getting richer and the poor continue to get poorer? STOP VOTING FREAKING REPUBLICAN THEN. Get Bush and every other republican out of office and maybe the playing field will be re-leveled. Even with that said Im sure atleast half of you fools will still vote republican thinking that good ol boy you voted in will take care of you. The same stupidity your grandfather and your grandfathers grandfather tha

I think Nolan should pursue Johnny Depp for the role of the Joker if he is gonna be in the 3rd film. he has all the mannersims to play him. if anyone has seen Secret Window you can see that he can be psychotic. if not then just end the joker with the dark knight and move on.

Two-Face isn't supposed to make an appearance til Batman 3, along with the Joker's continued storyline. But Harvey Dent is just helping Gordon and Batman catch Joker in this one.

...but ya gotta do what you luv otherwise what's it all for, right? Awesome that you're already working on films.... no matter how big or small there's always something to be learned with each film you do. In fact I don't think that process ever ends, which is part of what makes it so great. With each new experience we grow as a person.

absolutely.... that's why I couldn't understand so many people saying Heath had it easy just cause he was making good bank... it's takes extreme dedication & sacrifice to succeed in the film business, and with that comes plenty of stress...

yeah i get as much sleep as i can. but i already am starting on local films for now and working my way up the cycle. Its fun but very nerve wrecking and that alone makes me realize that although you maybe getting into the rich easy life, doesnt mean its haappy, it is still very stressful

just make sure you don't eat anything on July 17th Captain.... you'll need room in your tummy for those words. Jack was good, but he played the Joker like a mad circus ringleader and not like the true psychopath the Joker is from the comics. Burton's Batman films were fun and beautifully stylized but over-the-top nontheless. Nolan's vision is much more realistic, with characters that are far more believable.

Thanks Macktan... Unfortunately right now on the edge is right where I need to be... it's risky but taking risks and thinking out of the box is a way of life for me. Patience, faith, and determination will be the balance I need to walk the tightrope of life a wee bit longer. In regards to Ed Norton.... great actor, and yes, you heard right, he will be playing Bruce Banner in the new Hulk film, a role well suited for him. As far as him doing the Joker, I'm sure his acting ability is there but his face lacks the intensity that would serve as a base for the Joker's look. Make-up can only do so much. The face that lies beneath tells the rest of the story. I feel Heath had that intensity both on and off the camera.

    7 years agoby @mindscapeFlag

  36. macktan

Careful. We wouldn't want you to go over the edge....Actually, I would have thought that Ed Norton might have done something with this role...but I hear he is redoing the Hulk.

  37. Splatter2010

perhaps.... as more is revealed I'll leave it up to the hardcore fans such as yourself to decide. I'll be putting up a myspace page dedicated to this insanity of mine with plenty more pics, the voice/laugh, eventually some footage. I realize what a bold move this is and I expect to face alot of opposition. In time I do hope to gain the support of my friends here but I'm not expecting anything at this point for obvious reasons. There's nothing more I wanted then to see Heath back for another, and although I have a smile on my face inside I'm still grieving. Dark Knight and Heath's Joker is how I stumbled upon Movieweb and it's the sole reason I joined so I could talk with others who were as psyched as I was for Dark Knight and to see Heath's full performance. His death was a shock and it turned my lil' Batman fantasy world upside down.... when I put on the make-up though I start to feel right side up again.

  39. Splatter2010

I totally agree. It's not that I think someone could possibly do it better than Heath.... but I do believe that someone could step in to carry on the Joker legacy in honor of what Heath has done with the character and stay true to the series. Someone who genuinely looks, sounds, acts, and laughs like Heath in Dark Knight. Someone with the same intensity and scary quality. A diamond in the ruff. Who is it? Well, get a good look at the picture and take a wild guess ;)

    7 years agoby @mindscapeFlag

  41. Splatter2010

Who know's..... if Nolan can actually find someone distinct and sick looking enough to reprise Heath's role we may just get that lil' origin story in the 3rd installment. Unfortunately at the moment I can only think of one other who could pull off the role Heath nailed so perfectly. Unfortunately it's a no name actor, that well, obviously no one knows.

    7 years agoby @mindscapeFlag

  42. Splatter2010

Indeed Heath's/Nolan's Joker is the sickest looking villain mastermind that has probably ever graced the big screen. I fell in love with the character immediately..... and as you can plainly see I have a tendency to take my love affairs to the next level. Hehehehehehahahaha!

    7 years agoby @mindscapeFlag

The Joker never actually had an origin. They created one for him many years later. The only thing he ever said before The Killing Joker came out was about some kind of chemical. Thats it. And thats the Joker everyone fell in love with all the way back in 1940 when he came out. And that is the Joker Nolan is going after. He is using The Killing Joke as a reference so im sure the origin will all be pieced together after a while, but as far as making up a completeely different name than what is his and having people call him Jack instead of the Joker is not how it should be. I think Nolan is doing the right thing. He is following the comic books and thats how every comic movie needs to be made.

Explaining the joker with just one scene isn't enough. Showing his life as a mobster or whatever he was and then having that accident (if any) would be much more entertaining. but just one scene, come on people !!!!and Two Face is supposed to come out as well this movie might not only concentrate on the joker. that would be dissapointing.i dont know man

This looks like a great movie Bale did a great job sticking more closly to the comic book character than the other batmans (batmen?) did and I think Ledger makes a good joker from what they show in the previews, I could barly tell that it was him the first time I watched them.

    7 years agoby @photochik21Flag

well truvision they said they will sorta explain where the joker came from in passing in the dark knight. they just arent making as big a stink about it as they did the first batman as for the sleejness and all that you saying Batman i supposed to be...you told me before you dont read the comics nor had you ever read it. If you had you would realize just how wrong you are for saying that. He hides in the dark and comes out of no where to scare the living crap out of criminals. Thats his greatest tool...his usage of fear. His voice was always shown with very powerful laguage in the comics and then that was portrayed by bale in begins. Begins followed the comic book the best out of all the films. and as for the Batmobile. Once again if you had read the comic the first Batmobile was not small by any means. And the police werent just lettig him go out and do this. The Commissioner said he wants him brought in and the cops were chasing him. swat was after him. batman begins was awesome.

  47. JOSE_CTM

i agree wit macktan, the joker is the scriest character i've seen in movies now a days, actullay the scariest darkest chracter i've evr seen, he's not like the joker in the comics or the cartoons. he plays around but not as much, he looks like he has more personal issues, too bad they cant make an origin movie about him. it would have been a good movie also.

yes, phatlightning--I get you. I'm not one for cartoony movies; I too like them when they are converted to a more realistic perspective. I could understand and accept batman in begins--i could see this happening in a decaying, futuristic urban city. This is why I liked V for Vendetta, too. Nolan figured it out and Ledger certainly delivered. Nicholson's Joker was a cartoon; Ledger's is all too believable, like a son of sam, zodiac, kacynski, boston strangler.... If you're going to do this kind of stuff, might as well be theatrical about it.
