The follow-up to the action hit "Batman Begins," "The Dark Knight" reunites director Christopher Nolan and star Christian Bale, who reprises the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne. In the new film, Batman raises the stakes in his war on crime. With the help of Lieutenant Jim Gordon and District Attorney Harvey Dent, Batman sets out to dismantle the remaining criminal organizations that plague the city streets. The partnership proves to be effective, but they soon find themselves prey to a reign of chaos unleashed by a rising criminal mastermind known to the terrified citizens of Gotham as The Joker.

This joker sticks with the comics better. More of a psycho than a prankster. Nice!

Heath Ledger is not dead...he's in Hawaii hanging out with Elvis and Tupac....its common sense people..why would he kill himself when he does such a great part in the movie...its easy to notice the facts people..

...but ya gotta do what you luv otherwise what's it all for, right? Awesome that you're already working on films.... no matter how big or small there's always something to be learned with each film you do. In fact I don't think that process ever ends, which is part of what makes it so great. With each new experience we grow as a person.

absolutely.... that's why I couldn't understand so many people saying Heath had it easy just cause he was making good bank... it's takes extreme dedication & sacrifice to succeed in the film business, and with that comes plenty of stress...

yeah i get as much sleep as i can. but i already am starting on local films for now and working my way up the cycle. Its fun but very nerve wrecking and that alone makes me realize that although you maybe getting into the rich easy life, doesnt mean its haappy, it is still very stressful

although, how does the quote form Blade Runner go? Something like, "the candle that burns twice as bright lasts half as long."

I hear ya.... but you're definitely on the right track (no pun intended) All that hard work will pay off someday.... just make sure you get your sleep in between projects.... i.e. don't burn yourself out, you've got alot of good years ahead of you.

and thanks Joker2010 but it is a very difficult major to succeed in. Its alot of work. im doing good now but still very exhausting.,

yeah Nolan is really following the comics well, alot better than the first series. But thank you for the compliments on my page. as i see more stuff that interests me i will continue to add it. But i prefer Finale and Sibalius.

just make sure you don't eat anything on July 17th Captain.... you'll need room in your tummy for those words. Jack was good, but he played the Joker like a mad circus ringleader and not like the true psychopath the Joker is from the comics. Burton's Batman films were fun and beautifully stylized but over-the-top nontheless. Nolan's vision is much more realistic, with characters that are far more believable.

I'm liking Heaths' Joker thus far. I don't know if anything can ever top Jack Nicholsons' performance in the original, but if anything could come close, this has got to be it. Who knows though. I could end up eating those words on july 18.

That's the spirit Joker.... go after that dream. It's so important to have idols, they inspire us, give us goals to reach... and above all they are living proof that it is possible. I admire your ambition, reminds a lil' of myself. I'll definitely check out ur myspace page. I've actually been to ur profile quite a few times. You have awesome pics up. Plus I love the matrix style, trickling down "Ha Ha Ha" Totally cool page. I'll let you know when my stuff is up. I also want to include a bunch of pics of me without any make-up.... I feel it's rather important for fans to see my real face too. Btw, just curious, what digital music programs do you use?

    7 years agoby @mindscapeFlag

well thats doubtful...Hans Zimmer is the man! my idol. i doubt anyone could reach that level. But damn if i am not going to try. but yeah definitely let me know when its up. if you want to see my awesome Batman pages check out first my movieweb profile and then my myspace profile...www.myspace.com/mark_and_brittany_forever - thats my url check it out and tell me what you think

dude, that's so awesome of you Joker.... I appreciate you keeping an open mind. I'll certainly let you know when the stuff is up on myspace, and would appreciate any support or help getting the stuff to the right people if of course fans feel strongly about giving me a shot. BTW that's so cool that you are studying film music composition. Who knows, maybe you'll be the next Hans Zimmer!

i have to agree with you about Norton as the Joker. he is a great actor and all but he doesnt have the build for the joker and they need someone with a simular build and look for the joker. and as for your myspace page let me know when you have it up and running i will take a look and let you know. im studying film music compostion as it is so im already in contact with that field so if you appear to be able to pull it off i would be more than happy to help you out

Thanks Macktan... Unfortunately right now on the edge is right where I need to be... it's risky but taking risks and thinking out of the box is a way of life for me. Patience, faith, and determination will be the balance I need to walk the tightrope of life a wee bit longer. In regards to Ed Norton.... great actor, and yes, you heard right, he will be playing Bruce Banner in the new Hulk film, a role well suited for him. As far as him doing the Joker, I'm sure his acting ability is there but his face lacks the intensity that would serve as a base for the Joker's look. Make-up can only do so much. The face that lies beneath tells the rest of the story. I feel Heath had that intensity both on and off the camera.

Careful. We wouldn't want you to go over the edge....Actually, I would have thought that Ed Norton might have done something with this role...but I hear he is redoing the Hulk.

perhaps.... as more is revealed I'll leave it up to the hardcore fans such as yourself to decide. I'll be putting up a myspace page dedicated to this insanity of mine with plenty more pics, the voice/laugh, eventually some footage. I realize what a bold move this is and I expect to face alot of opposition. In time I do hope to gain the support of my friends here but I'm not expecting anything at this point for obvious reasons. There's nothing more I wanted then to see Heath back for another, and although I have a smile on my face inside I'm still grieving. Dark Knight and Heath's Joker is how I stumbled upon Movieweb and it's the sole reason I joined so I could talk with others who were as psyched as I was for Dark Knight and to see Heath's full performance. His death was a shock and it turned my lil' Batman fantasy world upside down.... when I put on the make-up though I start to feel right side up again.

I totally agree. It's not that I think someone could possibly do it better than Heath.... but I do believe that someone could step in to carry on the Joker legacy in honor of what Heath has done with the character and stay true to the series. Someone who genuinely looks, sounds, acts, and laughs like Heath in Dark Knight. Someone with the same intensity and scary quality. A diamond in the ruff. Who is it? Well, get a good look at the picture and take a wild guess ;)

well try me. who is it? but i dont really see how anyone could do any better than Heath has done based on what i have seen in the trailer.
