When I ponder the concept of the "perfect movie", I think of nothing other than the basics; great story, great cinematography, great acting, great screenplay, etc. That said; you can have all of these things, and still not end up with a film like The Dark Knight. This movie is not only a masterpiece in cinema, but the cinematography is nothing less than art. From the opening shot with the two bank robbers sliding from window to rooftop, to the climactic dialogue between a hanging joker, and an injured Batman, I find no flaws with this film. The score is outstanding, the intertwined story aspects are ingenious, and the flow of the movie is perfectly-paced. And let's not forget about the story itself: the deep psychological underpinnings of the escalation concept explored further.
And to think...this movie is based on a comic book? In my opinion, this movie is not only the best comic-based film of all time, but also one of the best films PERIOD (comic-based or not).
