The Dark Knight one of the most highly anticipated movies of year. It broke the midnight box office record with a staggering 18.5 million. In midnight sales! That’s impressive in itself.

As the second installment to Christopher Nolan's revision of a franchise gone strange, the Dark Knight faces off against his greatest villain, The Joker.

From the beginning this movie grabs you. The bank scene is....well for lack of a better word awesome. Its shot and executed beautifully, your caught by the action and the story as it leaps forward with your first glimpse of Health Ledgers portrayal of The Joker. From the first time you realize it’s the Joker you can’t wait for more of him.

Health Ledger's performance in this film is uncanny. I could hardly believe it was the guy from 'A Knight's Tale' or the hot-headed kid from 'The Patriot', he was totally The Joker. His actions and movements, everything about Ledger's performance was so convincing one would think director Christopher Nolan picked up a crazy out of the mental ward and put in front of the camera. When he was on screen you couldn't take you eyes off him, when he was gone you couldn't wait for him to come back. I loved the hospital scene when he came walking all weird and funny. The magic scene was another stylistic performance that captivated me for a few minutes. Ledger seemed totally engrossed in the character he created. Hell I still can’t believe it was Heath Ledger. It was just a really damn good performance by an actor who will never be forgotten.

Christian Bale returns as Bruce Wayne/Batman. He seemed more relaxed and confident in the role. His performance was decent not as good as in ‘Batman begins’ but good. His Batman voice seemed a little over the top, but maybe it was just me.

Nolan delivered again with an amazing vision of Batman. I love the realistic modern take on one of my favorite comic book superheroes. It basis this comic film in a setting, all feel comfortable with. One could almost believe this could happen in some Midwestern city.

I freaking loved Two Face, good god that was sick. My girlfriend was squirming and I had to force her to look at the screen. The effects were awesome! I was so amazed and how his eye moved, the teeth and tendons. God it was amazing. I did have problems with Aaron Eckhart’s character though but not with his performance. He was dead on it what I expected of a realistic Two-Face. I just didn’t like how he flipped so easily. I didn’t buy it. Yeah things were bad, but there wasn’t enough story to bring his character to a full arc and deliver truthfuly. I would have rather him vanish and return in the third chapter as the main villain. But I didn’t write it so I’ll have to say for 2 ½ hours his story arc wasn’t too bad at all. I’ve seen worse.

Overall the storyline was well written and very well delivered. It was the quickest 2 ½ hours I have ever spent in a movie theater. I see a lot of movies, I own a lot of movies and I am bored through half of them. But this was a great movie. Worthy of awards. Batman Begins set a new standard a look to comic book adaptations. Many films have tried and to follow suit. Most have failed and others have succeeded. Nolan knows the formula and has proved once again that he can deliver an entertaining movie with talent actors and make it look like it’s not a comic book movie. The Dark Knight is a awesome film.

I can hardly wait for a third film.

Good review friend. I agreed completely. Nice character detail. Everyone else talked about the story but we all know it already so it was good to see a different review.
