Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett [are] at the top of their game

David Fincher's adaptation of Fitzgerald's short story is an epic sweeping love story and a lush fairy tale. I found it completely captivating from beginning to end: Fincher directs Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett who are enthralling at the top of their game, and the beautiful, minimalist score by Alexandre Desplat really holds the whole thing together. It's impressive what they can do with makeup and digital effects; the 20-year old Button in the film looks identical to Brad Pitt in his earlier films, despite our knowing he is in his 40s.

I found Benjamin Button's tale a mezmerizing one, both a romantic masterpiece and a thoughtful rumination on the bitter burning of the mortal coil. A truly fascinating piece of work.

@dan1 Well, I've been tagging him in these discussions. I know he's busy, but hopefully he'll get around to it eventually.

@thedude-abides , @dan1 is correct. I've been writing reviews on Facebook ("powered by Flixster") for a few years now, but this is the site with community, so I decided to slowly try to import all those reviews. As I said before, it's just a shame you don't have the option to edit on @movieweb, as many of my opinions might change if I went back and rewatched these films. At least, I could flesh out many of these reviews into something more detailed.

@thedude-abides Flixster is more for you than others. Its not like MW where everyone is social. You can talk on Flixster, but its not like how MW here is. I still go on Flixtser here and there, but only to update lists.

@shuabert Yeah, the younger Pitt looked AMAZING. Agree all the way around. Great review, man.

By the way, what's with the sudden bombardment of reviews? Are you desperately trying to become official? Lol.
