Excellent film revolving around a plot filled with love, betrayal and revenge. The Count of Monte Cristo is a gripping and beautiful epic period piece. The revenge in this film will make you smile. The 'good guy' takes his revenge in the most intelligent of ways. The entire cast shines in this film. Caviezel, is perfect as the 'good guy'. One of his best onscreen performances. The direction, writing, cinematography and costuming are equally gratifying. Definitely has re-watch written all over it.
