The Bourne Supremacy: Review By ParkWilliams

The same edge of your seat action delivered in the first movie as a newly discovered Jason Bourne returns from hiding to seek revenge for the death of his girlfriend. Great film but a little less original and intriguing as its predecessor.

Sort of continued from "The Bourne Identity".

Jason Bourne comes out of hiding to seek revenge for the murder of his girlfriend Marie. After he returns he discovers he is framed for the murder of two CIA agents and the loss of vital files concerning the previous leader of the Treadstone project. When this took place, Jason Bourne was 4,000 miles away. In the midst of all that is happening, Jason begins to remember his past...

At the beginning, the story seems just as good as the first one. It throws twists and turns and delivers nonstop action. The thing is, as the story progresses, the whole running away, getting found, running away type cycle gets a bit monotonous. Don't get me wrong, it's still a great story. I'm just saying that the chase scenes get a little over used. In time however, this changes and it becomes Bourne doing the chasing. The switch from hunter to hunted was a nice fresh twist in the story that seemed to revive it and make it more intriguing.

Matt Damon once again delivers a wonderful performance. His passion has grown as he perfectly embodies the anger and desire for revenge that has grown inside the character. All of the acting seemed to have been pushed up a level for this film and it made it great.

The visuals for this film are about the same as in the first but a little more annoying. The camera gets so shaky during the fight scenes it becomes very difficult to see what's going on or whose even winning. As well, the same problem can be said for some parts in the car chases. I understand that it adds an air of confusion and surprise but they overdid it a little bit.

Over all, the film is great. Although not quite matching its prequel, "The Bourne Supremacy" is a great follow up. It ties together the loose ends to the first one and thrusts the viewer into a new story as Jason Bourne returns to prove he is supreme.
