I thought that this movie, with all the harsh criticism it's been getting, I thought it wouldn't be as good as I'd hoped, but, to my suprise, it was better than I had hoped.

The acting amongst the characters were real. Every emotion you saw on their faces comes from their own. Being terrified of what's around you, becoming pissed with the people you thought you could trust, and having a mysterious figure (or figures?!) following you wherever you go. I've learned about this type of acting in high school, and let me tell you, it's not a pleasent way to express emotions, because it can tear down your innocents and make you question who you are emotionally. I give most of the credit to the movie for just that.

The set ups were creepy in nature and didn't rely on gore or a slasher icon. (i.e. a Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers.) In fact, the only amount of blood you see in this movie is the bloody handprints on the wall of the house at the end (SPOILER) or the bloodsoaked teeth in the bag. The movie's scares rely on the setting and the actor's emotions. That's it; no ghost, goblins, creepy creatures of the night; just something plain and simple. A lot of horror movies today can probably learn a thing or two from this movie (and Halloween).

I give this movie 4.5 stars (mostly because it's a slow starter, and that we don't ever SEE THE WITCH!!!!)(another SPOILER). I was scared by the movie.

We are all entitled to our own opinions. I loved this movie, and most of you hate it. It doesn't matter.

Zero stars. Worst attempt at making something good. Lacking everything. Yet somehow it escaped with hundreds of millions? You can check my review on the right.

This film as a film was pretty lame. I personally thought the acting was dire and way over the top, as for scare factor well it just wasn't there. Another horror film that wasn't scary in the slightest. That aside kudos to the way it was marketed. Made for $22,000 and raked in around $250 million .. !!!! Now point me to the idiots that paid to see this film I have a new invention called a 'Chocolate Teapot' to sell.
