The Amazing Spider-Man: Synopsis
The Amazing Spider-Man is the story of Peter Parker (Garfield), an outcast high schooler who was abandoned by his parents as a boy, leaving him to be raised by his Uncle Ben (Sheen) and Aunt May (Field). Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy (Stone), and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents' disappearance - leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors (Ifans), his father's former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors' alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.

nice one huh, at first, i never like the idea of the reboot, but then, i came out to see that it's quite better than the previous spidey... There's heart in it, it has different dimension and the action scene is more realistic than its predecessor. Plus, quite a new set-up romance...

Everyone who's saying this film was amazing is out of their minds. It was a decent/mediocre film at best but it wasn't "Spider-Man". Peter Parker's character was worse than Tobey Maguire's version of the character. Spider-Man was a major disappointment, there wasn't even that much action or story to begin with in general. Emma Stone did amazing as Gwen Stacey and that's really about it. Coming from a huge Spider-Man fan, I was very disappointed. I stand by my word, it was exactly what I expected - a very overhyped film that ended up being a mediocre superhero film.

Well, I am sure that people who are not fan of the comics would perhaps like this adaptation of the comics. For my side, I totally did not like it. It diverged too far from the original version. I remember that comment that someone made on Peter using IE and "Bing" to look up for information and it was really funny. Next was the fact that a policeman would never give a portrait to an adolescent whose uncle have just been killed.
"Well, there is chance that its this guy."
"Can I have a photo"
"Yeah sure."
They sure made a lot of joke and did not show the fact that Peter was really smart, not only at school but in real life too. He would made anything to hide his powers and not throw a ball enough to bend a pole.

Yeah, what I know about the storyline kept me away. I was glad they gave Spidey proper webshooters, but the bit about his parents being something other than ordinary strayed too far from the comic book version of the character to warrant my interest in seeing this film.

The movie was fun and the cast did an amazing job, plus the special effects were much better. However the story writing was really poor. Not a great movie, just a good movie in my opinion.

One of the worst experience i had in theater...and that comes from a fan of Spidey, and someone who's been in alot of movies.
Bad acting, bad directing, poor editing, bad script, forced conflicts, and not faithful to the Spidey's origins.

i just give 4 out of 5 stars...i think raimi's franchises are more better than webb's..they should wait 20 years to make the reboot...i'm sure fans cant stop comparing btween those movies..

Not seen the film yet but already I am more impressed with what Marc Webb has done in the attempts of actually following the comics as opposed to making some sh*t side excuse of a film on Sam Raimi's part. Agreed, that when the first Spiderman film came out, it was definitely worth a watch and the second one followed on well. However, the third film was just ridiculous. Since when does Peter Parker ever turn 'Emo' cos he's attached to the symbiote from Venom. They just rammed in too many villains and made a mess and really came away from the plot totally. More to the point, Tobey Mcguire is way too short and fat to be a slender and acrobatic Spiderman and Andrew Garfield certainly looks and acts more like Spiderman.
Sorry but whoever is going on about how the Sam Raimi trilogy is far superior needs to check the facts. Wrong storyline, rushed and definitely needed a reboot - the majority agreed and hence why there IS a reboot.

this movie was the best spider-man movie ever made and for those of you are hating on this film need to stop hating, people want to say tobey maguire has better acting then andrew garfield bullsh*t andrew garfield acted more peter parker then tobey maguire, tobey maguire never acted like peter parker in the other 3 film, in the film he look like he try to act, but ever since andrew garfield has the role he play peter parker good he is peter parker, he is, plus the special effect and between the fight sense of the lizard and spider-man with animation looked so realist and f*cking amazing and for those haters don't understand this film, they are making this movie very true to the comic book, sam raimi spiderman film were not true to the comic book, sam raimi f*cked it up so just accept the amazing spider-man is better and go watch it again ya'll dumbass's

Remove the 3D from the film and it absolutely NOT AMAZING at all. The villain, the fights, the emotion and pace of the 2002 Raimi's Spider man was at least 10 times better than this one. The only thing this one has better is the little attitude factor in Peter's character which is good new thing but the rest was not at all good and certainly not amazing. I would say stop this reboot with this film only and start working on Spider Man 4 again.

This movie was decent. It had some cool parts in it and Andrew Garfield was alright, but it wasn't great. I still like Tobey Maguire better and I'll stick with Sam Raimi's trilogy. I did like Stan Lee's cameo in this movie though.

um, 10 min man
and this trilogy means so much to me

they changed too much

@jonspidey07 so you're okay with Venom only getting 15 minutes of screentime (half of which is spent seeing that pretty-boy-fairy's face) and then he gets killed?
