I loved Toby but come on now, how old do you think Toby Maguire is? Toby is 36 years Andrew is, and I just learned this 28 years old. not only that Andrew looks younger, maybe he's a little more articulate and people find that to be old? I don't know, but Andrew young, and he's a great actor. Toby was great but he's 36 years old now, he's too old if people are going to go there, and his time as Peter Parker has come and gone. Oh Well! I guess some of us who are still pissing on about Toby should move on, and accept that he is no longer Spiderman.

I agree if they was gonna go with someone that old they should've stayed with Tobey Maguire I mean he played the best Spiderman ever so why change something that isn't broke.

Not to take anything away from Andrew Garfield or his acting ability because I've never seen or heard him before, but the fact that they went with an actor who is 27 and will be nearing 29 by the time they finish shooting this makes me lose what little faith I had that this project is really going for "contemporary realism" of a highschool story. Sarah Michelle Gellar was 20 when she started Buffy the Vampire Slayer, playing a 16 year old. This guy will be playing someone ten years his younger, and it's going to be hard to buy, like the 28 year old guys on Glee playing 16 year olds.

I feel like when casting highschool characters they should be using actors who are 20-22, not 26-29.
