The Amazing Spider-Man: Review By Salemwolf711

A fantastic reboot that was defiantly needed after the disaster that was Sam Raimi's Trilogy.

Let me start this review by saying I hated the first Spider-Man movie released back in 2002 and i thought it's sequel a movie everyone called and still calls today one of the best superhero movies of all time was only decent at best. I hated the third one i mean who did't? I felt Sam Raimi was trying to hard to change the source material and make his movies too melodramatic and at other times campy and corny. His Spider-Man movies were nothing but money grabbers. Okay now that i got that out of my system on to the review Of the Amazing Spider-Man. First the Man Himself Peter Parker here is well played by still pretty new actor Andrew Garfield who nails the role of Peter Parker and Spider-Man. He gets the outcast part down Of Peter So well i feel for this character. I am rooting for this character all the time! Anther thing i liked about Peter Parker in this movie is we actually get to see him using his brain not people telling us oh Peter is a genius no we actually get to see it especially when he makes his web shooters. He gets the smart ass talking joking Spider-Man down here as well and it works to great effect.

Now on to the Love Interest. Gwen Stacey Is the love interest this time around not Mary Jane which is a good thing. Gwen Stacey is played by Emma Stone

one of the greatest young stars working in Hollywood right now and it defiantly shows in this movie. Gwen Stacey is a smart strong and never useless love interest. All the other characters are great as well.(Though some have their flaws)

Martin Sheen as Uncle Ben was a fantastic choice. He plays this part like he actually is this character.

Sally Field as Aunt May was okay. I felt she was more here for dramatic scenes and that she really did't do much here.

Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors was mediocre.

I felt he was trying to more of a tragic hero then a villain and i felt that his performance as both the lizard and Dr. Curt Connors was bland.

As for Denis Leary as Captain Stacy he was good until i learned they just put him in here to die! Then he Makes Peter promise to keep Gwen out of it with his dying breath mind you. So a few days past And Peter breaks his promise.... That was piss poor writing at it's finest. The final climax is pretty disappointing the film just tries to add shock value with people turning into lizard people and it's a race against time yet i feel no worry... not even once. We all know the hero will save the day and he does with some pretty bad angles and a crappy fight scene. Okay lets wrap this up. All in I like this movie allot it's defiantly a step up from Sam Rami's movies I just hope we keep going up with this new Spider-Man franchise and not down.

@Salemwolf711 Nice review man! Everyone hates spider-man 3, or they should at least! I know most of that movies problems was that the studio became way too involved in the film and forced Sam to put a lot of the crap we saw in, such as the entire Venom scenario... I would suggest writing SPOILER at the top of your reviews if you give away major plot points, such as Leary's death... If someone hasn't seen the movie, they may give you some anguish for having done so without it! I agree with your points and see your point of view! Nice review!
