Terminator Salvation: Review By Niteowl
You are all probably going to hate me when I say this.
I thought Terminator Salvation was as good as Star Trek. There, I said it!

So, what did I think of Terminator Salvation? Well, my overall quote says it all, I loved as much as I loved Star Trek. Does that mean you should criticize me like all those who criticized me for hating Iron Man? No, of course it freaking doesn't, because it's my damn opinion! So please don't get mad at me, wait, don't get mad at me, cause it's the internet, where we are all titled to our own opinions.
The story in this film was pretty good, with the first glimpse into the dark future after Judgement day. The machines have taken over, and John Connor and his resistance fighters must battle the machines. Only problem is that John Connor isn't the Resistance leader, because some believe he is a false prophet, although anyone who has actually seen the first Terminator knows what a pile of crap that really is.
Marcus Wright wakes up in the desert to find that the world is almost at an end. He meets up with a young kid named Kyle Reese and his deaf child assistant named Star. When Kyle and Star are both captured by the machines, Marcus must find them, with the aid of John Connor, and his army of Resistance.
Acting was amazing, with all the actors doing a very good job. The only downside in the acting was Bryce Dallas Howard, as Connor's wife, who was just used to take up scenery. She might have been a better character if McG had decided to focus on her pregnancy a little more. Sam Worthington as Marcus, and Anton Yelchin as Kyle were both the best actors in the film, and had to keep there cool, even when times got rough(er).
McG actually did an excellent job directing, and is cheerfully forgiven by this jury for the crapbomb that was the Charlie's Angels series. Visuals were also great, especially the Harvester terminator. Pretty good amount of action, and who cares about the PG-13 rating? I don't.
Best scene in the film was one given away in the trailer, when Marcus realizes he's a robot with a human heart. It's not a spoiler, we all saw it in the previews.
I love all the Terminator films, and this one is no exception. I really liked it, not being as jaw droppingly awesome as the second one, but being a close third, behind the first one, and the third being a close fourth as well.
All in all, I would give this film a 94% A. Worth your time, but some pompous weirdos who demand perfection might disagree, but niteowl is far from being one of those weirdos.

Me too. Loved this movie. And all Terminator movies actually. This is one of the movies I watched in theaters. The other one was Avatar.

I totally agree on everything. I loved this movie. And your like me, it's your own opinion and you should have the right to speak your mind without being sevrely (sorry about spelling) criticized. I hate it when people do that.
This one is my second favorite in the series. I thought the visual effects were phenominal, probably the best I've ever seen, next to "Transformers". The acting was supberb by all. And I can't wait for the other two films. I loved how many references were shown in it, mainly in the last fight. I also loved the cameo by "Digital Arnold". I still wish we could've seen "Marcus"'s full endoskeleton. I really don't understand why this film is getting panned by so many people. I had an awesome flow of action, but it still always kept a steady beat on the story, unlike "Wolverine".
Anyway, your thoughts about this film are practically in sync' with mine.

I just got back from seeing this film and thought it was a very movie but I have to disagree, it is not as good as Star Trek. Before anyone asks, yes I saw Star Trek at the theater its opening weekend.

Thanks for all your comments, I guess I am a T-2000 living in a Termi-Nation. MovieBuff, I actually found out about Twi-Hards through my movie theater. They had trivia about what movies are coming out before the actual film starts. One of the questions was "Fans of the book this film is based on, refer to themselves as Twi-Hards." Editboy, I understand about Star Trek, and I respect your up frontalism (don't know if that's a real word).

Hey man, go right ahead and say you enjoyed "Terminator Salvation" as much as "Star Trek"!! Don't be afraid to give your opinion here. Anyone who puts you down because of your views shouldn't be on this site!
I certainly thought "Salvation" was far better than "Star Trek" and I'm not afraid to speak up (as everyone knows). But in the same breathe I respect that a lot of people LOVED "Trek". That's cool...I did not. 'Nuff said!
I think if there was a name for the fan following of Terminator it should be the 'Termi-Nation'. You know, kind of like Red Sox Nation. You and I and everyone whose a fan of the Terminator movies are part of the 'Termi-Nation'. Can't say I'm a big fan of fan following names or titles (there's some pretty ridiculous ones out there!), just thought this might work for you.

Nice review. I enjoyed the film too... not as much as you though... and it is NOT as good as the Star Trek film. Of course, since you're a a Terminator fanatic, you're being a bit biased.
As for a name...? Never heard of Twi Hards... where did you get that from? Nerf herders? That neither. I must be living in a hole haha. I need to crawl out once in a while and see what's going on the nerd world. Anyway... since we're in the new millineum... aka the 2000's.... just call yourselves "The T-2000's". Simple.
