'Taken 2' Review By AvalleAJ
The first thing I noticed about this movie that was very poorly done was the dialogue. It was so boring and cheesy almost that I cringed at some of the lines. I almost felt like Neeson and his daughter were dating by a couple of the things that he said to her. It was awkward. The script must have taken a total of 5 minutes. I assume that from all the hype the first movie got that they tried to make Neeson's character too bad ass for his own good. They took little time to think about the story and the dialogue.
Neeson's character tells his wife that they can come to Istanbul with him as a vacation. First of all, your daughter just got kidnapped the last time you were in Europe. What makes him think it was so safe to bring her back? And when she gets there, he leaves her alone in the hotel. He tracked her to find out where her boyfriend lived, but left her alone in the hotel in Europe, where she was kidnapped not too long ago. I don't think so. The fight scenes are something that I see a lot of people complaining about, and I agree. They were choppy, poorly done, and there was one fight in particular that I didn't even see Neeson land a punch, but he somehow won.
I had problems with so many things in this movie, and I can't say them all because I don't want to give to much away for those who haven't seen it yet. It was simply a poorly done film, and I would recommend renting it if you have seen the first one, but I wouldn't go see it, and I wouldn't buy it when it comes out on DVD.
