Yes , yes i know what your thinking why is this movie getting such high praise? , well thats because this movie is so undeniably funny , its R Rated goodness proves to be a movie daring , funny , and well somewhat original and just completely hilarious , i was caught off-guard then alot of the films main moments here , but its still shocking that yet again another 80s style movie managed to make me laugh so hard. Its no Hot Tub Time Machine , but its in the general area , the soundtrack to this film is really stupendous and fun , your gonna be bobbing and weaving your head in your seat the whole time , tho sadly the title of the film , not once in the entire film they do not play the ever so popular "Eddie Money" song at all which was a bummer. But lets look at the stars here Topher Grace in all his movies he is the likable , charming , dude , and Don Fogler who well is just there for the supporting work funny - guy back up and do not get wrong is not amazing , but still funny as hell , it does pay homage to some nice cult classics of the 80s and will bring flashbacks and good memories of that time , and the story and plot here is a little more different then most 80s style themed movies , But from the start of the film , Take me Home Tonight made me wish that i did not have to go home and could stay and wish there was more to be enjoyed but it ends is so touching that well your gonna like it!.

Matt a recent MIT graduate and well is super smart and brainy and knows a lot of stuff , but guess where he is working Sun-Coast video its the late 80s , His friend Barry Nathan (Fogler) have been inseparable ever since they met in 5th grade , and his Twin Sister Wendy (Farris) is a complete bafoon and is dating one of the most dumbest kid in the world. But one day Matt spots his High school crush at the video store Tori Fredreking (Teresa Palmer) and quickly sparks fly , She invites him to a part at his sisters boyfriends party and takes the invite and goes , but what he does not tell Tori is that he is a clerk at a video store as oppose to working at Goldman Sachs. Him his sister and Barry decide to go on a crazy binge , of stealing a car , sniffing cocaine , and getting busted by his dad (who is a cop) and riding in a deadly metal ball. But nothing compares to how much he wants to impress Tori , and he just might but before realizing that sooner or later the truth will come back and haunt you. Can this trio survive the night , of drinking , sex and more drinking? i think so and stealing a car and getting busted thats always more and more fun , and proves to be a nice pleasant fun ride from start to finish.

The story here is just like any other 80s based film really , there is a huge part , alot of drink naked sex , which is what people did back in that era so the film is pretty accurate there and yes i'm sure any movie based on the 80s tends to be accurate but arguably the best decade to ever come and go. Some ups and downs here and there but nothing nobody can't live with its ok. Acting was great , better then most young stars in this day of film , but the fill follows a group of recently graduated college students and well i feel there a little to old for the parts i mean the actors are in there 30s for god sake , but most people are not gonna notice , cause for one there not gonna care i was just pointing it out as a fun fact really. But Topher Grace great and Fogler really shine in this movie filled with great comedic qualities and Teresa Palmer looking Hot and Gorgeous as ever the whole film. Directing was very unknown the main director well lives in Canada so yeah i would have no idea why he would do this film. Visuals were stunning!!! i mean the great homage it pays to the 80s , the hair , the style , the cloths , the everything the films does a great job depicting what the 80s actually looked like and really gives you a blast from the past and i mean really , its scary.

Overall: Take Me Home Tonight , proves to live up to its main premise , laugh out loud hilarity , Topher Grace and Dan Fogler steal the show in what is sure to be remember as one of the funniest comedies this year had to offer. One film that should not be missed. I mean its not as good as other "real" genuine comedies but for this year i mean it will pass and do well among most gender audiences kids , that did not grow up on the 80s (such as myself) will find the movie to be well difference and funny , its really a harmless movie that no one is going to really care about in a year , but for now while its out and in the movie , then hell yes!! see this movie it is so funny and charming and i just loved it , the lines and screenplay are devised really well and decently shocking as i was , like i said its no Hot Tub Time Machine , but it is in the same par as it , not as many laughs and gags , but the R Rated Satirical humor does prove to be what is promised tho what really gets me is the title of the film is "Take Me Home Tonight" how does that title have anything to do with the movie ??? i mean see it and let me know cause i was sort of lost the whole movie in that department. But nevertheless i am giving this movie a high reccomendation i mean you gotta see this film , its a retro comedy thats actually FUNNY!.

@dan1: Michael Cera is always full of sh*t, just like "Scott Pilgrim" and "Superbad."

This movie looks like crap, but good review, Forrest.

Not a fan of Topher Grace. He's not as annoying as say Michael Cera, but sometimes awfully close. This prob won't even get a rental, but good review all the same. Glad you enjoyed it.

I've heard plenty of awful things about this, but it's refreshing to see an opposite point of view. Thanks for the review, though I might wait for the rental on this one :)
