Sweeney Todd: Review By ubobby33

This movie is as outstanding in its performances as it is in its gore. A must see, it's not the same old holiday movie.

Wow! To me this movie came out of left field to make a home run. This is definitely different for the holidays and is far from Tim Burton's Nightmare Before Christmas. Tim Burton has done an amazing job of bringing these characters from stage to screen. Using actors instead of singers for the rolls was pure genious and the clear fact that each performer gave their all to their roll was extremely evident. Depp's presence fills the screen with tragedy, passion and intrigue. The bright unknown was Ed Sanders. His performance as Toby was amazing, and I bet we see him again. I can't think of anybody better to pull off the roll of Signor Adolfo Pirelli, classic. All in all Tim Burton's erie vision for this musical was flawless and set to become a classic.
