Bruce Willis has played in quite the "Save the World" movies in his carrer and I must say...I'm getting sick and tired of seeing Bruce Willis save the world over and over. I mean, yea, he has a few differnent types of movies but most of his movies are just about saving the earth. SURROGATES is another one like that and it really isn't that great. I was hyping...or ebven excited about this. I just thought it looked alright and the movie ended up being ok. It was nothing special but I may of liked one or two parts...at most. The movie has the same giss of the 2004 Will Smith flick "I ROBOT" only this movie has a weird style to it. But, heres my question about these SURROGATES. If these people sit in chairs and live their surrogate lives 24/7 and if their surrogates do all their walking and exercize...then how are these people not getting fat sitting in chairs 24/7? That was just something that I thought about when watching this movie.

ACTING:

Bruce Willis is no doubt a great actor but latley all I see in him is the Die Hard John McClane character. The character he played in this is the "bad-boy" type no doubt, but that's who Willis plays in all his films. That, I guess, is his image but eh...I'm sick of seeing it. I'm not bashing on Bruce Willis or anything but I want to see a new character in him already and not see the John McClane character for once. Michael Clark Ducan has small role and he does ok. Not a big fan of his but he does a decent job. As for the acting...it was decent. Nothing great...nothing terrible.

DIRECTION:

I can't really complain about the direction of this movie. It wasn't bad. Some of the veiws and furturistic stuff was cool to see and the shots were ok.

VISUALS:

The visuals were alright. The action scenes didn't look the greatest to me. It looked early 2000 visually to me. The robots...SURROGATES didn't look high-tech to me and I hated the way Bruce Willis looked as in his surrogate. His hair looked extremely fake. As for the visuals, they were ok. Nothing great.

THE GOOD:

The good of the movie is that it has a sort of interesting mystery to the movie that keeps you guessing. Who is begind this? Stuff like that. But other than that...there isn't much good to the movie.

THE BAD:

The movie is like an "I-robot" re-imagining kind of and the movie is sort of confusing. The movie is a little too short to keep it at a good pace and the acting wasn't the greatest.

OVERALL:

OVERALL, an ok sci-fi flick. It wasn't the greatest and it wasn't the worst. I wouldn't recommend it till it's on DVD or maybe even TV. I just wouldn't waste money on it.

THANKS FOR READING!

i remember sitting in that theater, and thinking it was a good movie. as i left the theater, i kinda forgot i even saw it. now here i am, and thinking it was a rip-off of I Robot (which i thought from when i originally saw the film, too). but now i just dont think its that great of a film anymore. id probably give it 3, still. but i see your 2.5.

    good review, too.
