In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth - something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.

@cooInblue - so glad to hear that's what it's like. I loved those films and have yet to see this, but the trailer felt like that great old '80s spielberg adventure movie style to me. :)

Just a thought - what are they going to call a sequel if they make one? Lol. They can't call it 'Super 8 2', you'll have people asking where Super's 1-7 and 9-81 went lol

super freaking out of this world...it was like goonies,close encounter of the 3rd kind,and et, all rolled into to one. i felt like a kid again at the movies. I've heard spielberg speak on his early ventures as a movie maker, and watching those young people take the camera and go for it was something to see.Maybe the best movie i've seen all year, better than thor, and a couple of others. This 1 had better character,story,heart,and an ending that satifies like the old days. i'm going to say it ... a happy ending.
also i like that they kept the oppsing figure hidden until the right momment like Jaws, well done! Movie makers- take note.
