Star Trek is a movie every movie fan dreams of seeing! This movie leaps from the origins of the original series and also leaps to being the best movie of 2009...so far!!

Did I think Star Trek would be so damn great? No. I thought it would just be another decent sci-fi but this is definatly the greatest sci-fi adventure i've ever witness...ever! This was just a movie of a lifetime and I am extemley happy that I went to see it. I saw this movie right after I saw Terminator Salvation and I didn't think that this could top it but IT DID! I was very surprised! I had a lot of fun watching this movie and I think that Star Trek fans and even people who aren't fans should see this movie. There is nothing wrong with this movie! NOTHING! Nada! This movie is incredible and I regret not seeing this in IMAX. I wish I did! I also wish I saw it weeks ago when it came out! I missed a great movie the past few weeks this has been out!

ACTING:

Every performence in this movie was greay! Not one performence bothered me. And, the guy who played Spock [is that how you spell it] actually looked A LOT like the original Spock! It was a great casting choice. The man who plays James Kirk does a great job too and as for the rest of the cast....AMAZING JOB TO ALL! Even Simon Pegg does good and I hate him as a actor.

DIRECTING:

The movie has awesome direction and JJ. Abrams [Lost, Fringe] does a fantastic job making this movie come to life!

VISUALS:

Two words: awesome visuals! I loved the visuals in this movie and they really couldn't of been better.

THE GOOD:

There are no words to explain how great this movie is.

THE BAD:

It ended.

OVERALL:

Overall, a fantastic movie that I wish I could watch again right now. I hope a second one is made and I really think that people should go see this now before it leaves the big screen. SEE STAR TREK!

    The beginning of your first paragraph seems to be the general expectation that everyone who saw the film had, whether they ended up liking the movie or not. I skipped out on it since I'm not a trekkie, and heard that most of the film's success is due to a major makeover of the entire Star Trek look & feel that the originals had, making it less trekkie besides the cast & enterprise which are near the same, but better. My dad wanted to see it after hearing good things about it from his friend, so he'll probly netflix it when it's released.
