Its better than the 2nd one, but not as good as the 1st. It is, however, a great film, i love it, it's, in my opinion, the third best Superhero movie, after Iron Man and the first Spidey film.

The special effects are great, especially during the crane scene (the part where the crane smashes threw the skyscraper and Gwen falls out) It's also the best scene!

The only bad thing about it, is that Harry dies. A must see for all Spidey fans and Superhero fans 10/10

Yeah, you're right they couldn't make it borderline R-rated, but I thought they could have spent more time on Harry's turn to drugs and spiral down the "dark side." I think they should have excluded Sandman and made Harry and Venom the main villains, or at least it would have worked out better

I agree mostly with what YOU said, although some few minor things I'd like to point out.

    - The storylines all could have worked better had they spent more time on developing said storylines. I think that the Venom character was done really well up until the part that it spoke for the first time, and everytime thereafter. I was like WTF??!?! Venom doesn't sound like a puny Topher Grace from That 70s Show! I believe they could have done some voice enhancements to make it more like the 90s Fox Kids Spider-Man TAS cartoon. However, they DID do well on adapting the Venom costume from the comics, and building up the character/story arc of Eddie Brock. I'll give them that. Only other thing on Venom was that they could have made Topher build up his muscular mass more. That said, I agree with what you said on Gwen Stacy (and Capt. Stacy for that matter), the intros were weak, and their involvement in the film was minimal at best. Why did we get introduced to them again? Maybe it will be explained in Spidey 4.

    - Yes they did drop the ball on Harry Osborn OD'ing on LSD like from the comics, but they replaced it with him being an alcoholic, which builds up after Otto Octavius's experiment-gone-wrong in Spidey 2. True, they watered down his OD, they just showed that he was spiraling out of control, but it is a PG-13 movie, and many kids were being aimed in in the Spidey films. Its not like they could have made it borderline rated R/PG like the new Watchmen flick and included all the mature themes from the book. Just thought I'd point that out that they had him drink instead of take drugs, he wasn't just whining like a bitch.

There's so many things wrong with this review. I liked this movie better than others, but still:

    1) As Phat said, you totally left out TDK. Understandable, but ranked this higher than that...poor choice

    2) You didn't say why you liked it so much other than the fact it has great special effects...so? You forgot to mention the half assed introduction of Gwen and Venom, the cheesy dance scene, the symbiote just landing on Earth and attaching itself to Peter's scooter without any backstory, the cheesy team-up at the end......

    3) No way is this better than Spider-Man 2, you were just blinded by your special effects. MAYBE better than the first Spidey, but only because the Green Goblin was kinda annoying...MAYBE. This had way too many storylines

    4) Harry dying had to happen if you've read any comics, you should have seen it coming...and I'm glad he did, he was getting to be a pain in the ass. They totally dropped the ball on his drug abuse like in the comics. Maybe it would have been too dark, but it happened in the comics, and I much rather would have seen Harry overdosing than whining like a bitch

Well, I suppose if you aren't ranking The Dark Knight in the "superhero" category, then your comment would be, well it would still be wrong. This movie is pretty much attrocious.. but everyone is entitled to their opinion. First Spidey was well done though.

It didn't suck. I REALLY enjoyed this one. The second one however is the best of the series. This movie I give a four.
