Captain Colter Stevens has no idea how he got on the train but little does he know he's on a mission, a mission where he has to find the bomber who is planning for his next target. Colter also learns that he is also part of an experiment when the being on a train became a delusion and reality is something else. The experiment has been termed as "Source Code" which takes in the last moments of the persons' cerebral consciousness which makes the SC to work through nerve signals triggering the person to be projected to a desired state. Now in SC you'll find the elements of the matrix , avatar and déjà vu. Matrix in a way that he's projecting a different world through mental consciousness, Avatar in a way that he's in a new body and déjà vu in a way that the events keep non recurring until he's done with a mission. Colter needs to fulfill his mission as even though he cannot change the past but still he could save the lives of millions still and while doing this he also needs to get a grip on his emotions because he also is dead. He would never get a chance to live again and also he has met someone special along the way.

Coming to the story and the concept given by Ben Ripley, Ben did come up with something totally different. Like I said he took the three elements and invented Source Code. The story is really unusual and the tone was quite different unlike what is seen in most of the movies. Colter gets to know he is already dead and what if he got a chance to re-live again, this is where the real thing starts. The movie though had its primary tone in being a thriller but it effectively took its way to an emotional phase and Yes, it really hurts to know that Colter died a painful death and he never got the chance to talk to his dad and moreover he never felt for someone special in his life before. The thriller was good but the emotions were intense and un-explainable. Ben really did make an impact on the heart, I literally felt for the character. Now there are some arguments regarding Source Code itself. It really is hard to believe that something of this sort is even possible, though if it is then it's a noble cause. Source Code has its limitations in only investigating and there is no guarantee that further incidents can be prevented because every second definitely counts! Moreover the film mostly depicts déjà vu every time and it really became a bit irritating at first but thankfully the events unfolded favorably and the emotional phase was the one that saved the movie.

Duncan Jones did the direction. Ben thought of the emotions and Duncan made sure the audience gets it. The characterization was good and he did pick up a good cast for the film. The visuals were good too. Don't know about any of his previous works but Source Code got my attention.

Coming to the cast.....Jake Gyllenhaal was the lead and Jake did give one of his best performances after a long time! He suited with the character and he took it effectively till the end. Well there wasn't any female lead in particular both Michelle Monaghan and Vera Farmiga shared an equal space on screen with Vera was more prominent in deliverance, compared to Michelle. Hey Russell Peters was there too :) Russell doing his first major film he was good too and his deliverance was enough for his role. The overall cast selection was good and Jake Gyllenhaal lead them all.

Summing it up.......Source Code is different and it really gives you a second chance to re-live again despite knowing that whatever is you're living in is not true. The movie does have a soft side too apart from being a thriller and it really is touching to know that everything still turns out to be okay. Gyllenhall fans would love it and the movie will touchingly make its way to every other viewer so do give it a go!
