Son of the Mask: Review By renodc

I have a general rule that I don't review films I haven't seen in their entirety, and I have to be honest here. I have seen all of Son of the Mask, but never all at one time. This movie is so bad that I have found it virtually impossible to sit through more than 30 minute segments. It's just painful like someone ramming an ice pick right between your eyes.

The word horrible doesn't even come close to describing how bad Son of the Mask truly is. Son of the Mask is a comedy that isn't funny, and it's an adventure film that isn't adventurous. The story is so erratic that it makes little sense. The pace of the film I would consider excessively hyperactive to the point of being nauseating. The special effects and CGI are absolutely atrocious. The sets and costumes look like something designed by a 9 year old. The acting is abysmal. Jamie Kennedy is absolutely horrible. Alan C*mming is slightly less horrible, and poor Traylor Howard has that "Oh My God, I've just pissed my career away" look on her face the entire movie.

Once Jim Carrey passed on a second Mask film, they should have just killed it in pre-production.

I really honestly can't say anything good about Son of the Mask. I have absolutely no idea how this film got past producers and studio execs to make it into the theaters.
