Snoop Dogg's Hood of Horror: Review By Rock

I wonder if the writer/producer team came up with this idea for a horror anthologie film while watching Snoop Dogg Doggystyle , Am suprise i dint came with that idea while wathcing Snoop rapping b-rap songs and presenting cheap ass f*ck scenes

Anyway in this Snoop becomes the cribkeeper for a demon and has to bring unfortunate corrupt souls to hell , wich all have a horrific urban tale to tell .

This anthologie do'snt take itself seriously and is borderline horrormedy

It strongly felt like a urban hommage to the old EC horror comics , strongly reminiscent of HBO' Tales from the crypt but with with strong urban/hip hop culture wiff to it.

For me this came has a suprise wasnt expecting it to liked it has much has I did , I found all 3 stories entertaining , semi-original with almost all original kills, The blood and gore flows plenty and the make-up is pretty decent .Great acting by mostly veteran actors or actors i love to see on screen ( like Ernie hudson , Lin Shay ,Aries Spears ,Danny Trejo ect...) almsot every role is fill by a character actors that has been around in the buisness for a while. Some really quotable lines and memorable dialogue come on this one from a ghost is priceless : ''You know, there's too many award shows nowadays. I couldn't even tell you who won this sh*t last year. Oh yeah, I talked to God. He told me to tell all you guys, quit thanking him, he doesn't give a sh*t.''

But what made it stand out for me was Snoop's story and in between segment-cuts that ties the 3 stories together , Mainly because 2/3 of it is animation , done in the style that you would find in The boondocks and Todd McFarlane's Spawn, I really loved it , for me it really aded something quite special to this anthologie

I dont think i will be seeing a sequel for this since it dint get a lot of love , but I really wish to see one someday , i love this to turn into a franchise or even into a tv show like Tales from the crypt, If HBO aint gonna revive that show they should give this a trie maybe theyll come up with the same idea

if your not a fan of anthologies and rap music and hip-hop culture , dont watch this you proably wont like it , but do if you are
