Richie's clever and often hilarious "heist" film is an exercise in style and a general good time. Narrated to coherence by Jason Statham, Snatch is an ensemble piece where character interaction seems random, but is anything but, as everyone attempts to get their hands on a rare 86-carat diamond. The plot comes together surprisingly well in the end, considering how much of an incoherent mess it seems to be turning into, and the movie has many memorable characters to whom it gives their own small legacies. Aside from Richie's flare for visual style and his great writing, spot-on performances from Dennis Farina, Vinnie Jones, and especially Brad Pitt (in one of the best roles of his career as a bareknuckle boxing gypsy) make for a great reason to watch this film.
