Endings are important to movies, TV series and video games. They can make average movies good, good movies great. They can also make average movies bad and turn great movies into good to average movies. In rare examples it makes excellent movies that you remember for years to come. One's like THE THING, THE SIXTH SENSE, THE USUAL SUSPECTS, DAS BOOT, and SEVEN are examples. I thought Skyline was going to be one until the last 90 seconds. I'll get into more detail at the end of my review. So I'll give you a little warning the probably will be some spoilers.

The story is nothing original it's been done before. You know a some alien race invades and it's up to a small group of people to survive. The writers of Skyline find a way to make it their own and unique. I loved how they didn't tell us anything about the aliens. Who they are, what they are for why they came to earth. That's what I believe. If a advanced alien race travels millions of light years to reach our small little planet their not coming in peace.

The acting was really good considering they were all unknown actors. I doubt very many people will recognize any of them. The only one I recognized was Donald Faison(Terry) because he played Turk on the great comedy Scrubs. The other actors David Zayas(Oliver), Eric Balfour(Jarrod), Scottie Thompson(Elaine), Crystal Reed(Denise), and Brittany Daniel(Candice) all did a really good job.

The money the saved on the actors they spent on the action/special effects. I'm not sure who did them but they were truly breathtaking. I read that this movie only cost around 20 million to make. For what they did with the money they had put shame to movies that cost 100 million or more.

I'm not the biggest fan of the Strause brothers. After all they directed the really bad Aliens vs Predators: Requiem. Though after this movie my opinion of them has gotten better. They did a great job with this film. I could blame them for the last 90 seconds but I'm not sure whose fault it is. The writers, the directors, or some producer who wanted to add it in there.

I've decided not to go into detail about the endings of Skyline because I'd have to ruin the movie for you. I want to but I don't want to piss anyone off. So I'll try with out ruining it for any of you. Skyline has two endings. A truly excellent ending and a horrible on that last about 60 to 90 seconds. Like I said above I don't know who to blame for it. You can even tell a little bit that the second ending was added on to the film. The second ending was so bad that almost everyone in the audience at the midnight showing laughed. Of course this is just my opinion and people my disagree with me but I think I will be in the majority here.

Overall Skyline is a really good movie that could have been great if not for the ending.

I just watched the film and I totally agreed with you all that the ending was the worst part of the film. However, I enjoyed the movie till the heroin woke-up.

@Ilikepie202: Your right the ending was the worst part of the film. Like I said the movie seemed to have two endings the original and then a ending that seemed added on. I have no idea why the added another ending except maybe the studio and producers wanted a chance for some kind of sequel. And sure I thought this movie was good but it in no ways deserves a sequel and what the did was just terrible.

@Supes I'm sure Battle: Los Angeles will be one crap load better than this, just the trailer of it made me put it #3 on my most anticipated films of 2011!

You are one of the few who really liked this movie (at least on this site). And I want to give each film a shot. So when I read a review with a differing opinion, it needs a bit more. You have a solid review here, as I mentioned. It just doesn't convince me of anything.

moviegeek151: Thanks for expanding on your earlier comment. I thought I did a real good job explaining what I loved and hated about the film without giving anything away. When I give things away about the story or characters people complain and when I don't people complain. I'll just have to live with not making everyone happy. If you really want me to expand I could in a comment.

@Huntsman I just needed to hear more specific reasons as to why this film was good. You were very precise with what was bad about it, but 4-star reviews deserve more defined praise.

moviegeek151: I've seen the movie and this is just my opinion. If you don't want to listen to me that's fine. I thought it was the really good film. The only glaring problem was like I said in my review the crap ending the attached to this film. It really does take a lot away from the movie.

Hmm.. I haven't seen this; but your review is almost overly positive to be credible. Thorough, if unconvincing review. Thumbs up for that much.

@Daveactor7, Battle looks better than this sh*t in all aspects of an alien film. it has better actors, better effects, better action, more interesting story, and it just looks more entertaining. Once i saw the trailer for this movie, i knew it was going to be a huge piece of crap.
