Sherlock Holmes: Review By SCREENWRITER

Alright, I just saw the new Guy Ritchie take on the well-famous SHERLOCK HOLMES. Since I saw this movie a few hours ago I have been in a cross of deciding whether to rate this movie 4.5 stars or 5 stars. The movie definatly got to me and I really loved it. In the end, I decided to rate this a fair 5. It is worth it, I think. This is the last movie that I will see in the year 2009 and I thought that since this is the last movie for me this year, I thought that I'd put a list of my top ten favorite films of this year on this review. Once I give the list I will continue with my review for this movie. Here is my list.

There it is. My top ten favorites of the year. On my comment board for this review, I'd like you to place your top ten favorites of the year. Please do, because I am interested to see peoples opinons on what is the best of 2009 because all can admit that this was a great year for movies. Trust me, there is many more incredible movies this year than the ten I decided to put on my list.

NOW TO CONTINUE WITH MY REVIEW OF SHERLOCK HOLMES:

ACTING:

Robert Downey Jr. [Iron Man, Tropic Thunder] takes on the role as Sherlock Holmes and he does a magnificant job! He gives a incredible performence and he may be the best Holmes that i've ever seen. Then there is Dr. Watson, of course. Jude Law plays Watson, Sherlock's partner and best friend and Law also gives a great performence. The chemistry between Downey Jr. and Law is what makes these two characters fit perfectly together in this adaption of the crime-solving hero. Rachel McAdams also gives a well performence. And as for Mark Strong playing Lord Blackwood, he gives a grim, dark performence and may be my favorite villian of this year. The acting in SHERLOCK HOLMES is wonderful!

PLOT:

SHERLOCK HOLMES has a interesting, confusing plot. But, hey, mystery's are supposed to be confusing, right? Thats what makes them a mystery! And Sherlock Holmes definatly brings on the confusion! The movie is about Sherlock and Watson teaming up, after deciding they were done working together, to find Lord Blackwood, an old foe who has supposably come back from the dead using dark magic. Holmes being right on the case and interested goes on a great journey to the bottom of how Blackwood ressurected. The movie is darkly interesting and also hilarious at the same time.

VISUALS:

The movie has great visual effects. I love the look of old London in this movie. The style of it just looks remarkable. I love the dark texture of the film and Guy Ritchie makes the movie look devislish and humourous at the same time. Ritchie does a amazing job and he makes the set of this flick a work of art.

OVERALL:

OVERALL, I would definatly recommend SHERLOCK HOLMES to everyone. This is the last best movie of the year and it ends 2009 with a bang! This is the last movie of the year I'll be seeing and i must say, 2009 has been a great year for movies. From a valentine killer to a revenge seeking father to viligante superheroes to the origins of a favorite hero, and back to the enterprise. Lets just leave it at that by saying. WHAT A YEAR? I enjoyed many movies this year! SHERLOCK HOLMES is one fantastic movie and I recommend it to all looking for a great mystery to end the year. SEE SHERLOCK HOLMES!
