OK, before anyone attacks, let me just say my girlfriends dragged me to this. I loved the HBO series BUT the previews for the film looked really, really lame to me. I was going to avoid it like a Cameron Diaz movie, but like I said - I was outnumbered. Just as I predicted after viewing the trailer for this flick, it was L-A-M-E. It was very apparent that the writer/director, who also worked on the series, is a gay man writing what he thinks is every straight woman's fantasy. Has anyone mentioned the fact that it's lonnnnnng, too? 30 min. in, 2 of us were looking at our watches. The story doesn't even take off until almost an hour and a 1/2 in, and it's too little too late. The Samantha character - always the ballsiest and funniest one, does not disappoint. The rest of the film, however, does. Stick to the TV show, ladies.
