'Salt', starring Angelina Jolie as Evelyn Salt, Liev Schreiber as Winter, and Chewetel Ejiofor, all CIA agents, revolves around the possibility that there may be a double agent within the CIA. Maybe not.
This movie grabs hold of you, and takes you along - on a high - octane nonstop roller coaster ride, similar to the Jason Bourne trilogy, and certain James Bond films released before the advent of Daniel Craig. However, unlike the James Bourne movies, and certain James Bond movies, you understand what is going on at the same time that the high - octane fast paced action whirls by.
Although Angelina Jolie shows - once again - that she can look sweaty, bloody, beaten up, and so forth - and does not mind it - a touch of her natural beauty shown through in this film. Her beautiful long, blond hair flowed down her back during some of the scenes in this movie, and the audience gets to see how Angelina can look with her hair down, enhanced by her beautiful eyes. Although I have not seen many movies which starred, or costarred, Angelina Jolie, this look in 'Salt' is reminiscent of her role in a movie that came out in the late 1990's, 'Girl Interrupted', which also starred Winona Ryder.
Chewetel Ejiofor shows once again, in 'Salt', that he can play a major governmental character, as he did in the 2009 movie, '2012'. It is quite an ascension for him, and his career, since he co starred, with Audrey Tatou, in 'Dirty Pretty Things', a fine arts limited release movie.
Please see this movie before the summer of 2010 ends if you have not seen it yet, and add a dash of 'Salt' into your end of summer movie life.
I saw 'Salt' with my lovely wife at the AMC Movie Theaters, at the Galleria indoor mall in Middletown, New York State, at 08:40 p.m. Eastern Daylight Saving Time, in Theater # 16, on Monday, August 23, 2010.
