This was a great day for thrills. Calling my action fan cousin to see this movie made this day thrilling. I mean, I was so worried that the critics would bomb on this movie, because I was expecting too much... Hate it when that happens. Anyway, "Safe House" is the first intense thriller of the year and it was worth the watch! I mean, when I went to my cousin's house, after seeing it, and he played MW3 in survival mode and... He was pulling a Denzel Washington on those guys! He took those guys out like Bourne! Wow, a big thriller can affect your shooting skills in gaming! Anyway, this was a great action movie, not perfect, but great. If you'd like to know why, keep reading.

Matt Weston is a CIA rookie who is manning a safe house in Cape Town, South Africa, when Tobin Frost the CIA's most wanted rogue agent is captured and taken to the safe house. During Frost's interrogation, the safe house is overtaken by mercenaries who want Frost. Weston and Frost escape and must stay out of the gunmen's sight until they can get to another safe house.

Director Daniel Espinosa has got to be a Tony Scott fan to make this! It's like the exact same style of filming as a Tony Scott film, because of the bright color correction. But, the only thing that I don't like in most of the action movies of today, they always make things too fast. Like when there's a chase scene, the camera is like out of control. It's zoomed in too much at some clips and the shots changes too fast. Same thing happened in this movie, but not as bad. We do have pretty large screens that are hard to focus on (for action movies). If only John Woo would ever come back and make another American action movie for us. Realize that the last film he made was Paycheck... which for some reason I keep sleeping on it. Is there a lot of action in that movie? Anyway, to make things smooth in an action packed chase scene, set that camera on a tripod and be still!

Like Corey said, this was a great performance by Denzel Washington. I love it when the guy plays a villain or a man that seeks vengeance, because he's always so casual and fearless, I love it! Everybody else did a great job to at keeping the film high-octane. I really had no doubt about Denzel not doing any good, because this is what he does best.

Well, I wanted to make a quick review for this time, just telling that this is a great thrill ride loaded with shootouts, big thrills, and especially pop ups, so, get those ears ready. I'm the MovieWiz, thanks for reading.

Plus, I'm planning a 4.5 review so surprising, you may not look at my logo the same way again... Yep, I'm a B-...... to be concluded.

@moviegeek Don't go for the least. He's made MI2, Face/Off, and his most popular, The Killer.
